Nathanael M***** started working on our patio on Monday April 8, and that is the day we paid him a 50% deposit of $9,320.50. According to emails he sent us, in his own words, “we put are pride and soul in our work and guarantee our work. If you have any issues after you can always call me and I will come fix it”. In the contract he signed it also states, “American Brothers Contracting shall provide its services and meet its obligations under this contract in a timely manner and workmanlike manner…services which meet generally acceptable standards in American Brothers Contracting’s community and region”. He committed to us that we would have a beautiful patio that we would be fully satisfied with. He was consistently hours late, he had men show up to help him that he claimed he didn’t know, ruined our grass by leaving wood and equipment on it for weeks, the patio is not up to industry standards by any means, it’s not useable (the steps are crumbling and there are dips throughout the patio where water puddles), and it is the sloppiest workmanship I have ever seen. After pouring a sloppy, unusable patio, completely trashing our entire yard with rocks, concrete, and a pile of trash that included a beer can, wrecking the side of our house, leaving piles of concrete on the property next to ours, he agreed it was awful and said he wanted to make it right by ripping it out and re-doing it. He made plans to come back two days later and since then he has not returned any of our calls or texts. He took over $9k from us, left us with an unusable patio and a huge mess, said he would fix it, and we haven’t heard from him since. After a deeper look we have found out he has done this to other customers in the past. We also learned he has multiple different names that he has operated under, with different addresses and details, but they’re obviously all run by the same person.
