On August, 2022 I called Rumer-Loudin because my Fiancée's air conditioning unit was not working. I asked for someone to take a look at it and let me know how much it would cost to resolve the issue. The person shows up and says the air conditioning unit is junk and proceeds to give me an estimate. While handing me the estimate then proceeds to tell me it will cost me $175.00 for a service call. He continues to keep muscling me into paying him this amount of money on the spot. The company never made mention of it costing money for an estimate. He kept saying it was for the service call, but did not perform any service what-so-ever. The repairman didn't fix the issue and continued to keep harassing me about paying him money. This company needs to stop these unethical business practices. I since had the same A/C unit repaired (Not Replaced) without service call fees at all. Stop sending me bills for service that you didn't provide. I do not want to hear or be contacted in the future from this company again.

We have had the same process for 47 years.  We keep a record in a book of every call that comes in and any prices quoted, which we did for Jeff especially since it is the first time we were there: $69 trip charge plus charges for any additional work.  The note from the request was for a repair not a free estimate.  We do not provide free estimates on repairs.  How can we when we haven't seen the problem and we can't run our expensive vans full of parts and tools and a well paid technicians around the valley for free.  To believe differently is disingenuous.  We did provide an estimate while there because the unit was in such poor shape, even though it wasn't very old.  Our notes also show we made sure there was no warranty left on it because we cannot provide warranty work on others' installs. We did find there was no refrigerant in the system. which we cannot do without placing gauges on the outdoor unit.  As well, our tech found the outdoor disconnect was pulled and left on the ground, as well as the wrong type of solder was used by a previous repair person or installer, oil was everywhere, which leaked out of the coil (a major concern).  Our tech is responsible for collecting so I do believe he requested payment, probably more than once.  Let me make it clear that Jeff has paid nothing.  From what I understand, the later repair by someone else he claimed he paid nothing for was made by the same man who botched the original installation and subsequent 6 attempts at repair.  He should be responsible for such terrible work.  Jeff proceeded to leave a poor review on ******** for which I have engaged with him. He chose that route, not me. I am undecided at this point whether I will be turning the account in to collection or small claims court.
