Northwest tree service told me they would cut the tree down to ground level which they did not. When taking the tree down they damaged my fence and said they would fix it, which they did not. After waiting about a month without any responses to my text messages I had the fence repaired at a cost of $200. I texted him the amount of the repairs and he has yet to respond offering payment.

Northwest Tree Service LLC in Swanton, OH ***** ********, came to my house and inspected a tree that I needed cut down. While inspecting the tree they indicated they would need to use a boom lift and take it down in pieces. They then quoted me $3500 to remove the tree and I agreed. They gave me their insurance information and I made the call to their underwriter to verify the policy was valid. It was so I felt comfortable with them doing the work. While performing the work they lost full control of a major limb and it fell on an adjacent tree damaging it and knocking it halfway down. They had to come back the next day to complete the work but overnight we got about 2" of rain and the other tree they damaged fell all the way down on my driveway. When they were finishing the work, the owner approached me to make payment. I pointed out that there was still 4 feet of height to the tree stump they were originally cutting down as well as part of the trunk from the damaged tree blocking clear flow of the crick. When I was presented with the bill, they added $400 to clear the tree they damaged and $500 for a boom lift rental. I pointed out that they damaged and caused the other tree failure. I also pointed out that the quote was given to me already understanding a boom lift was needed and I was quoted $3500 total. The owner acted like he was doing me a favor discounting the bill $900 to get it to the $3500 that was quoted. I paid the $3500 cash, and the owner assured me they would cut the trunk down to near ground level and clear the other tree trunk from the crick. After they left, I noticed the tree was not cut down to ground level and the other trunk was still blocking flow. I texted the owner and he said they were not going to do any more work for free. I did not get anything for free and I just want them to complete the work they promised to do. I left a review on their web site a week ago, but they must filter them as it does not show up in their reviews today.

We cut the stump low as we can the tree is completely removed and taken away brush wood and all. He was quoted 4 grand along with a lift and did not pay total amount I waved that along with a tree that fell down randomly that was blocking the jobsite and charged him 400 for that. All together the job was 4400 he only paid 3500. The tree that fell randomly we did for free because he didn't want to pay. I gave him a 900 discount yes because he refused to pay the full amount and I'm not going to argue with a client over money that's just unprofessional.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
I stand by my original statement, and they did not quote $4,000, they quoted $3500. The statement that the 4-foot-tall tree stump cannot be removed is just ridiculous.
      Sincerely,

As you can see there is the invoice that you received and accepted correct? Nothing was a issue until you keep demanding more work for free and not receiving it. We are a buisness sir not a charity fund. I know you sit at your computer doing meetings all day and give everyone bad reviews but you need to get your facts straight. This picture is the same invoice copy i received after payment. 900 was not paid which I waved for you out of full generosity I didn't have to. We didn't have to clean up your fallen tree for free. We didn't have to take the funds out of our own pockets for a lift rental because the tree was very dead and at risk of falling anytime. Your stump is only a couple feet high not 4.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
I was quoted $3500 for the job. I work in engineering and deal with contractors all the time. When a job is bid the contractor is responsible for providing the required equipment to complete the work quoted. I never accepted the invoice with the additional $900 charge. I only accepted the total of $3500. If it made you feel better to call it a discount that is up to you, but they were never legitimate charges, and you should have completed the work. You can see by the attached picture that the stump is just short of 4 feet not a couple feet tall. I also have only left a review a handful of times in my life, and I don't recall ever filing a complaint with the BBB in my 63 years. In this case I felt it necessary as you have shown yourself to be disreputable and I want to be sure I do what I can, so others don't get taken advantage of by you. I hired another tree service this last spring to remove 3 tress and they were very professional and completed the work that was quoted. I hired you because your employee indicated you could do the work that day and it was a dangerous tree. I won't make that mistake again.
      Sincerely,

      *** ******** **
