2/18/2022. Took my car there after three times at another mechanics. He said he replaced alternator and wires so it would charge the system. He charged me $500 for this work. I picked it up and the transmission light was on. He said when I brought it in it was on. Which is not true the light was never on. Now my transmission won't shift. So I took it to another mechanic and and he said the new alternator is not charging. I called Danes back and he has one excuse after another. I use the car for work so it is my livelihood. And he let me leave his shop knowing it wasn't working properly.Business response

On 2/18/2022 *** ******* brought his car into Dane's Garage with the car demonstrating charging (voltage) problems asked us to diagnosis and possibly fix these problems. We performed a Pre-diagnosis computer scan on his car revealing over a dozen transmission codes as well as warning light. Car revealed several other codes but is not uncommon for a older car with many miles. The result of the diagnostic scan was that the alternator needed replaced in order to get the battery to hold a charge. At the customers approval we replaced the alternator leaving the customers car with no more charging issues. Tested Perfect.
After paying for repairs and leaving with vehicle satisfied with what we done customer then called complaining transmission. After a lengthy conversation with customer the owner referred to scanner and observed the time stamps of the transmission codes verses the time the customer brought the car to us. Revealing that the transmission issues occurred long before we received the car from the customer. That is a fact. You can see the (distance driving with MIL light on) in the live data.
If any charging (voltage) issue remains the problem then the parts and labor 30 days or 1 year warranty covers it and the customer if more than welcome to bring the car in so we may correct or fix the problem. The customer has Not shown us the car, or any real evidence alternator failed. However, the transmission issues are unrelated to anything we have to do with the customers car or any repairs we preformed. Our receipts specifically state NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS. Which means while a warranty may cover an issue, you cannot suddenly change mind and request a refund. I believe without a reasonable doubt *** is attempting to scam into a monetary gain.
We take great pride in our work and stand behind it. Any issues please bring the vehicle in.
