This has been truly a horrible experience. I had my car towed to community car care last year May 2023. I had the owner diagnose me with an engine that was not functioning. After about a month I got my vehicle returned to me with the check engine light on and wanted another five hundred dollars from me to fix that he claimed was an O2 sensor? I am like so I just spect almost seven thousand dollars on this vehcile and this is how your going to treat me? I had my vehicle for about a year and it started having a clicking sound. I had tried to approach the owner several times and while he told me once that he was not sure what the clicking sound was, he told me to hold onto the receipt. I am wondering if the engine was repaird correctly or this was just a money ploy by this mechanic. I believe that giving me back the vehicle with a check engine light on is horrible and he needs to make thir right? Why would not all repairs have taken place and instead you give me back a vehicle that I paid 7k for with a check engine light liminating? I am wondering not only what he did to my vehicle and why I have this clicking in my vehicle and I would like for me and my mother to be refunded as this is some kind of hussle, you give me a warranty and you put it on the rack once and can't figure it out? I am like you would not inspect the engine or even look at it makes me sick!

Also I had another shop check the engine, and the engine was not one where community car care said it was. I called jaspers automotive and they had no record of ever servicing an engine with my VIN number. This is fraud on the highest level, I mean who exactly is my engine being warrantied from in this case? I am wondering who rebuilt my engine as in if jaspers didn't rebuild my engine, I don't have a warranty and as you see he guarantees me 3 years 1000 miles.  He refuses to look at the engine or inspect it, he also said keep my receipt as I had an issue with the vehicle but he refuses to inspect the vehicle and the vehicle is not under warranty with jaspers. I will send you the paper work he gave me from jaspers engine and transmissions.

The consumers warranty covers his engine only.  All other parts were transferred back on the car.  Exhaust manifold and O2 sensor need to be replaced and the consumer declined those repairs.  Jasper was one of the options for the engine however they were 8 months out on an engine. So we purchased the engine from O'Reilly.  We never told him we purchased the engine from Jasper.  The warranty is through us not who the engine came from.  If the consumer has a issue with the engine he is welcome to bring the car in and we will diagnose it with an appointment. We do not take walk ins.

I don't have a huge complaint but I feel it is resolvable. Monday March 28 I turned my car in to CCC for a starter problem which they did fix quickly after their assessment. I paid and drove away. 3 days later the starter died again. I towed it back to CCC as I was told to do. I was told it was something going on with the ignition. They said they would call back to let me know something but never did. I have called several times and can't seem to talk to the same mechanic that said I would receive a callback that same day. That was Monday December 4th. I had to call them back. I was told again that there was a problem I'm the ignition system when I called Tuesday morning. My calls remain unanswered and all I want them to do is call when they say they're going to call. The first time I took it they were quick to fix the starter. Now that it's back up there (Currently) no one is telling me anything. Not even if they're going to start on it or not. I asked would I have to pay extra and I was told possibly I did. No problem. I want to give CCC more of my business but when you can't simply return a call after saying you will aftet you have identified the 2nd problem I do have a problem with that. I'm not a difficult person and I know the customer isn't always right but to keep identifying the problem and not letting me know if you're even going to start the 2nd repair is just a little unnerving. All I ask is to be kept up to speed, get this behind us so I can continue my business with CCC.. They got my money for the first repair but now I feel like I'm getting nowhere. Even if they can't start right away, just give me a simple call and let me know. Ti me that is professional courtesy.

Company said you originally brought your 2004 vehicle in and they fixed your starter.  Days later you had your vehicle towed to their business on a Friday around 4 pm.  Apparently, you tried multiple times to call them the next two days (Saturday and Sunday), and they are closed on those days, therefore there is no one answering phones.  On Tuesday they diagnosed and found a problem with the electrical in your ignition switch and advised you of the issue and fixed the problem.  They will not be adjusting the bill as they provided a service and completed the repairs.  The starter issue and the ignition switch were two unrelated problems and were billed properly.

On 8/3/23, my 2003 Dodge Neon went to Community Car Care (CCC) in Toledo for a transmission pan leak repair. The car was having low fluid half hour, 45 minutes prior to the visit; it was repaired prior, but it had a slow leak. CCC completed the repair, however, it was discovered days later that the vehicle was still leaking fluid. Upon the 2nd visit a week later, rather than checking out what other issues may be occurring that may be causing the fluid to leak further, another batch of gasket maker added to the transmission pan and I thought the repair was completed and no more leaks. 2 Weeks later on 8/29, it was discovered after installing new parts needed on the vehicle by my mechanic friend, ***** ******* and on 9/1 by ****** from **** *** **** **** in Sandusky, Ohio, ******, it was discovered unbeknownst to me that the gasket maker that was added was poorly that exasperated another leak and two bolts was installed that didn't even belonged on the pan to begin with. ****** in Sandusky was able to properly diagnose the issue and added a new gasket and used proper OEM bolts that I previously acquired from another 03 Neon at a junkyard after properly cleaning them with apple cider vinegar and a wire brush. On 9/6 at 9:44am, I consulted CCC about this issue despite them offering them prior to repair the pan prior to leaving for a trip on 9/1, I told them about what was discovered and demanded a refund. They told me they will not offer me a refund and placed the blame on ***** ******* who did it the first time than taking responsibility for the poorly done repair to the pan the 2nd time after 8/3. For the repair that was poorly done, all I want is a refund and nothing more. What's pictured is the receipt and the photo evidence on what was discovered on the pan repair Community Car Care did that was discovered by ***** and ******.

Company said you brought vehicle in to repair issues from a previous (bad) repair from a different facility/mechanic. Company said whoever attempted repair prior to this company, had silicon dripping all over the pan and also 6 wrong bolts in the transmission pan. Company said they told you the transmission pan was installed wrongly and at that time advised you the transmission needed replaced.  They fit you in to attempt repair the first 2 times, but the 3rd time they set an appointment for the following morning but you never showed.  Company said they were still working with you to help correct the problem, but you chose to find someone else to correct the problem and try to get this company to pay the other company.  They said they do not bear responsibility for your choice to seek service elsewhere.  They will not be offering a refund.

March 29, 2023 - I called the business to ask about an oil leak I as having. The male owner told me to drive the vehicle to their business to get it checked. They told me I was out of oil and they filled and let me leave. The next day, I noticed the same issue with the leaking oil while I was at home. I called them again and again they told me to bring the car in. They filled it with oil and I left. The third day when I was leaving me home I notice more oil than before. I called them, they told me to bring the car in. They diagnosed it an told me I needed an oil valve. They changed the oil valve and charged me $80. When I left the shop, me vehicle started jerking so I took it back to them. The owner drove it around for about 20 minutes and brought it back and said it did not jerk on him. When I left the shop, I got on the highway and my vehicle topped and never started again. I took the vehicle back to them and they told me the engine was blown. I am seeking payment for a replacement engine since they did not diagnose my vehicle when I initially told them about the oil leak and they allowed my to drive the vehicle with leaking oil which s what I blieve damaged my vehicle.

      [BBB Transcription via Phone]

They texted me and said they want my car removed from the lot. They said there is no reason for it to sit in my lot. I expect it to be removed by 04/28/2023 by 5pm or you will be charged storage fee for each day. I had it towed to my drive way.

I do not believe that this complaint should be a part of our business record.  The customers vehicle, as stated in her complaint, arrived with no oil in the vehicle.  We as a courtesy and free of charge did do visual inspection and filled her oil free of charge with an expectation for full inspection for a future appointment date.  We did not cause the oil leak to this vehicle which was the cause of failure to her engine before it even arrived to our business.
