Cleaner and Dryer worked with us through the clean up process of a basement flood; drying out the basement, and disposing of non salvageable items. Several business and clerical issues during this process, to include their error of threatening a lien on the home. The balance owed was close to $600. The company was to still get me an updated bill, and remove the elliptical machine from the basement. I talked to the owner, J** ******. I made him aware what I was waiting on and he said he'd send his crew to get the elliptical within 2 days. Despite me letting *** know the elliptical was a heavy piece of equipment and he'd need to send several guys, two guys Show up at the door. They move the elliptical from the basement. They scrape the paint off my ceiling, and walls. My bannister is loose. And my wooden floors are scratched with deep scratches and scuff marks. The two gentlemen who carried the elliptical says to not give them the balance check because they'd have to pay for all the damages. They apologized, took pictures, and sent them to the owner. The owner, ***, called me on Monday afternoon with an extremely rude approach. He indicated this was a favor, although made no mention of this being a favor 48 hours prior. *** says they are not responsible for the damage and 'we're done here.' *** refuses to work with me on repair of these issues; would not look at the damage in person, call for his own estimates, and says we're calling it even despite the possible cost of repair for the damages that Cleaner and Dryer caused to my home. The dialogue from the owner was unbelievable. He was rude and unprofessional (calling me unethical for signing a work authorization form AFTER work was done because they lost the first one) for a business owner. C&D is responsible for the full cost of damage repair, and I expect to work together for quality repair and full refund/responsibility from C&D.Business response

Customer would not pay us the remaining balance owed unless we removed the elliptical. This was not in our estimate but she was holding our money hostage. I reluctantly said we would do it. There was some damage to walls and the edge of the floor. we were removing as a favor to the customer. I told her to keep the money to cover the repairs.
