June of 2021, I signed a contract with my mom, **** ******, for new siding on house and detached garage costing $11,998. They did not install properly. None of the top pieces on either structure were attached securely so the top pieces kept falling off in several places. A couple different workers were sent out to fix and they could never get it right. Several pieces came off of the side of the garage at the top including the gable vent during heavy winds so I contacted them once again. In February of 2023, someone came out and put the vent back up and said he'd be back once the new siding came in to install. New siding had to be ordered for that section because when it came off it was damaged. No one ever showed after that and the business stopped answering my calls and texts.

I had a new roof and gutters installed on my house (6/2019) by this company and everything looks great no complaint there. The installation was accompanied by a 30 year warranty on all installed products on the house against defects and damage. In our last rash of storms the gutters and a roof vent incurred some damage that need to be addressed. I have tried to reach out to the company with the phone contact on my contract and it has been disconnected. Upon my research on the BBB website it looks like all complaints about this company in 2022. It is my assumption they are no longer in business and all I have is a guarantee on a piece of paper that means nothing.

10/5/21 wrote a check for $3500.00 half down to get our gutters done after we came back in November 2021 from our cruise vacation. When I came back from the cruise I caught Covid and became really ill. The owner called me while I was sick and I said it wasn’t a good time to get them done, I wanted to get better first. I asked him to call me back in a couple weeks when I’m not sick. It did take me a little while to feel back to normal. I never heard from him, couldn’t find my contract so I could get his number to call him. Finally I looked online for the check I wrote him and they cashed. He was so rude to me when I contacted him. I told him we no longer want him to do the job since it’s been a year and not another word from him. He said he has to take 33% off our deposit for the supplies he said it’s in the contract, my husband said tell him to send us $1,190.00 so we are done with them and not to deal with him. Now he hasn’t responded to texts or emails and I refuse to call him and have him talk terrible to me again. We just want our money back it’s been over a year and he never attempted to call back to see if I recovered from Covid to start the gutters. He just kept my deposit all this time without even doing any work on the house.

They won't fix any of the work that has fallen apart. They only started working on the installation a few months ago. Several different people came over to do measurements because their employees kept quitting. the person who did the installations did damage to my home and IES refuses to rix it or refund for the repairs. I need plaster fixed that they broke. They damaged a few of the wondows and did not replace any of the damaged windows that they installed. They kept one of the windows and didn't refund me for it even though it still needs to be installed. The fascia is falling off my house already. I had to pay for repairs to some of the gutters and downspouts that they installed which werent done correctly and have started falling down. They did not complete the window installation. And there are potentially serious issues with what they did install as it's not been properly sealed or affixed to the house. The person who did the actual installation was caught smoking pot when je was supposed to be installing windows. He seemed professional at 1st and then he stopped working. He refused to come back to finish the job when he was asked to fox eork he did incorrectlywhile i assume he was under the influence. He told me he wasn't being paid by the owner of this business and then he tried to get me to pay for the rest of the installation so he could get paid. The minute I did this they stopped doing any work on my house and refused to honor the lifetime guarantee that they promised me when I signed up. The owner wont send anyone else to complete ir fix this. He threatened to sue me if I left a negative review and indicated in writing that he has many unhappy customers and he threatens to sue them until they go away. I have proof in print. I want the installation finished and a refund for repairs that were done incorrectly that were falling off of my house. They didn't even complete the fascia installation and new things are coming undone due to rainy weather.

We can not satisfy this customer. We spoke to both installers and they will not go back. She accused them of doing drugs and they went right over to get a hair test to prove to her she was wrong. She constantly found fault with everything they did. They put remaining window(s) in basement. We did not collect remaining funds due. We pay all our installers and they told us they never told her we didn't. The owner never said he would sue her. The person she hired to "repair" gutters is the person she should be contacting.

In January of 2022 I researched contractors in my area of Sylvania/Toledo, Ohio for insulation and window installation work. I met with three vendors and Instant Energy Solution (IES) won the bid for my window installation work (an order to take 18-19 windows out and replace them with 13-14 windows), while another company wont he bid for my attic insulation. **** ****, the owner of the company was in my home and negotiated the contract for $10,900. At which $5,450 was due at signing and he would not let me have 24 hours to think about the sale and when the job was completed in May 2022, I would pay the additional $5,450. For the amount of windows, it was a great deal on paper with a 30 year warranty, no fine print. Time passed and the windows arrived, but **** did not have a crew to install the windows and the job was put off until July. **** told all of his employees I was "a hot single mom who would get them drunk." So each installer would mention that I had good bourbon and that **** told them I would get them drunk while they installed their windows. I am not in the business of getting workers drunk on my property for obvious liability issues. The job started in early July and was finished Aug 2, 2022, taking 22 days. During that 22 days, the installer did not show up for 6 to 7 days in a row and left ladders up, trash in the yard, left his trailer in my driveway. left my garage open. Because the job took so long and the installer did not show up when he said he would, I had to make a decision to leave my home unsecured for him daily. When I reached out to **** he stated he didn't control the schedule and that it would take 5 days from start to finish and would not adjust the sale. The installer brought strangers to my home, including his girlfriend for entire days, his installers brought their kids to my property to hang out during the install. They filled my recycler with trash which I made them fix as well as did not clean up any of the inside of the home.

I appreciate everyone who goes into service for our country. Its a wonderful sacrifice. I have many family members who have also. I am very surprised to read the texts and Facebook statements written from this customer. They contradict each other and I'm very sad that she decided to do this because she wanted money back on a job she new was a great price.

All customers get a contract and on that contract they have 3 days to cancel deposit or not. We have never kept a deposit of someone who cancels.

The deposit is to set the price as we have found that materials change constantly.

The customer did offer drinks to the salesmen. She did drink in front of them frequently and when the owner said she has good bourbon he was stating a fact in front of her.

The installer did have problems getting there and asked the customer if he could bring his children and a babysitter (girlfriend) to watch them.

She said that was fine and she got along very well with the girlfriend (who said she would testify to this) who then went around and cleaned up the site. The customer was satisfied at the time and there were no tools left for her to sell (per Facebook friends).

The installer's help did not show up and he has been having a hard time finding men who want to work, as we have.

The pictures of the windows are not the pictures of the finished product. She was very happy at the time. She also told the installer she would leave her back slider open for him.

She did ask the owner to take 450.00 off the job because of the length of time it took. He told her he couldn't because of the good price he gave her.

When he got to her house to pick up the check she was very vulgar and ended up telling him to go home and "beat his wife".

She proceeded to tell all her friends on Facebook about him and said many things that I would consider Harassments. She posted a picture of his daughter and him on Facebook and when her "Vet" friends asked if they could take care of him she said "sure" . Exact words were from her " call up some brothers and handle it another way".

This is someone who gets her way or she will wreck you regardless if it results in hurting someone. He Facebook pages show who she is.

She wanted money off therefore decided to wreck IES Reputation. She was nice until she wasn't.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
-During the January 2022 sales pitch from **** ****, he asked for a glass of makers 46, as he had not tried it before and stated he did enjoy a glass from time to time. He was given a single glass, and enjoyed it with no issues. No work was being completed this day, as we were negotiating the sales contract only. The workers brought their own beverages and food.

-The trailer was not approved to stay at my residence for the time frame. in fact. I had the installer ask my neighbor, the captain of Police for Sylvania Ohio since I knew trailers could not be left on the street or in the drive way. She did say she would not ticket it for the single night they asked it to be left. They were made aware of this. I mentioned the trailer had to go several times and it was left. The Installer drove his motorcycle many days and stated he lived too far to go get his truck to move it. In this case, I had no choice. If I had it towed, work could not be done. I do not have a vehicle to move the trailer. I did not have a choice. I talked to the captain about it and she stated as personal favor, she would not have it ticketed.

-The installer(s) would state they were going to show up and did not. I took off several days of work, but they did not show up for days. There was two times when the work site was left with trash and ladders still leaning against the house for 6 days straight. Many concerns for safety as nails, sharp metal pieces, ladders for anyone to climb up, etc.

      - I never was asked about having guests on my property. I would not have allowed this. Of course I was polite to the guests, these days (three of them out of the 22) were the only days where work was being done. I did not speak to the minor who was on the property. The one guest was one who the installer met on "TikTok" recently from out of state and was his girlfriend. These were complete and total strangers that did not have anything to do with the installation.

-I did contact **** several times during the installation to let him know what was happening and he did not take any responsibility for the length of time it was taking, for the lack of respect for my schedule, missed work and negotiation of cost.

-The crew did not clean up any mess from inside my property and I was left to clean it. They did not even clean the windows or seals.

-My property was always made available to get into, against my better judgement, as I just wanted the job completed and felt trapped as to what to do and did not want to have to hire someone else. The job was scheduled to be completed in May of 2022, so it was already two months later than anticipated because **** stated he di not have installers. I never referred to the installers as brothers. I asked him, told him to get another crew because I simply wanted finished.

The Facebook post was in no way threatening, it was purely informational, as many people posted that have worked for **** that he is a scam artist and has not paid many of the people who worked for him.

I would gladly take the Facebook posting down if $2,500 of the cost was refunded to me. The amount of time and situations I was forced to be put in to get the job finished are ridiculous. I should not have to leave my house unlocked for 22 days straight in order for my windows to be installed, in the rare chance the installer shows up even. Let us be reasonable. Feel free to counter.

      Sincerely,

We are rejecting this customers claims about our company and installer.

The customer was well aware when the installer could not show up. We have text message of her okaying it.  There was material on back order that  the installer did not know was missing until work was started. She knew this. He had to leave and run out of town to pick up these missing supplies.

      This help up the work.

I spoke to the installer and he said he spoke to the police person next door and she said as long as he left his truck attached he could leave it there.

He couldn't leave his truck there so the customer gave him permission to put the trailer in her driveway.

At one point she had him pinned because her vehicle was disabled and blocked him in.

The installer said the customer was nice offered them drinks and was very happy with the job. The girl that was there was very insulted with her description of her because she is on the installers payroll and did clean up inside and out. The customer kept telling her she was such a hard worker and was proud that she was a girl that worked so hard. She told her "Girl Power" with high fives.

The recycler filled with trash was completely cleaned and washed for her.

      Hi ********* -

We initially filed this complaint against EnerSol in Maumee OH. However, they must be a contractor for our intended complaint which is IES Energy Solutions LLC in Toledo OH, owner **** ****. Is it possible to re-route our complaint to this company? We were not aware they subcontracted their work hence the confusion in the BBB filing. Please let me know if you need more information. Thank you.

This customer contracted with us on 10/13/21. We submit to installers on that date. The installer calls the customer and sets up date of install. We can keep up with the installer but we are at their schedule. We can keep asking but they are very busy.
When they finally were going to do insulation this customer was very upset. the owner of IES took off $300 for inconvenience. The customer has the contract in front of him and knew that the contract was for 3596.00 and the refund was for 300.00. The installers did not know the the owner already took the refund off the bill which would have left 3296. minus their deposit of 1800. that left the customer with 1496.00 to pay. He wrote the check for 1196. which he knew that was 600. instead of 300. The owner called to let him know that and of course there is always resistance even though they had the contract to prove the amounts. I wasn't there to say what each person said but I do know that we have been scammed by customers that let us go into their home and do the work and never intended to pay the bill. This is very frustrating and we usually never ask for a down payment but have had to start asking so we can at least pay for the installers work. I don't know what is happening to this world but it is not a good time for many people and businesses. As a small business we can not afford to keep taking these hits.

      Customer response

      02/24/2022

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We are willing to split the difference and pay $150 after the job has been completed. Per attached images, there are several bare spots and the duct work is not sprayed which we paid extra to have done. The owner implicitly denied that spraying duct work is a service they provide since it does not "meet code." This keeps feeling like a scam. On top of no communication, extremely delayed service, an incomplete job, **** has verbally harassed us and called my wife a "Karen.". This spray foam was for our baby's nursery. He has not been able to be in the nursery all winter because we had to prep the room for the spray foam installation. What is this world coming to when a business owner takes advantage of a new family, doesn't do the work he was already paid for, and threatens instead of communicates. We have never dealt with something like this in a business situation before.

I spoke to Enersol today to find out what needed to be done at Mr. ****'s home and would he please take care of the problem. I also let him know we were not asking for the $296.00 balance. I called and left a message with Mr. **** today to let him know we took the $296.00 off of his bill.

I wrote the first response to the first complaint and since I wasn't there I wrote what I was told happened which Mr. **** pretty much confirmed in his second complaint. I spoke to the owner and he said to drop the other $296. but I did not know that until after I sent it. We did not send any bills due to Mr. **** so I thought he would know that.

Mrs. **** told **** they did not want to pay $600.00 because of how long it took for the Insulation company to come out. He said he would take off $300.00 of that but so everyone knows we did end up taking the $596.00 off of the job for their inconvenience.

I had my house walls insulated last January and as part of the agreement there is an "unconditional guarantee" that if they would come back out and reinsulate if the insulation ever settles and they would come out annually if requested to what I was told use an infrared scan to ensure it, when I talked to the owner he said laser. Anyway, I had a certified energy inspector out from through Columbia Gas (******************************************** who used a 3,000 thermal imager and identified several areas that either were missed all together or the top 4-6 feet were not insulated. Upon hearing this I called IES and spoke with ***** the owner he began bad mouthing the agent saying they don't know what they are talking about and that they just want to sell me something (Of which ******* didn't try and sell me anything) After his rant, he said he took my information and said he would send someone out. It has been a week and haven't heard anything and to be honest I do not want to deal with them at this point.

The Wall Insulation contract was signed on 1/27/21
Walls need to be done in decent weather and was finished on 3/21/21.

Attic contract was signed on 10/30/21 and was done on 12/2/21.
It hasn't been a year on his walls since they were done and he needs to call for that service.
We offer our customers the courtesy of coming out
to check their insulation, this is a yearly service we provide free, but they need to call us.
He never called to ask us before he made this complaint. We've tried to call him and he hangs up on us.

I did call and he was immediately rude and said my inspector did not know what he was doing. They said they would have someone get a hold of me and I waited a week before filing the complaint. Yes, I hung up on the owner twice when he called after getting the complaint. He was rude and disrespectful and to be honest a complete ass. I don't need to be treated that way and won't be bullied, so yes I hung up on him. The third time he called he said he would have his repair person call me within 15 minutes. It was the next day but he was very polite. He and the installer have come out and inspected and found areas that were missed or insulated improperly. That was last Wednesday. They said they would be in touch within the next couple of weeks. I told them as long as I didn't have to deal with the owner and repaired and painted the holes I would accept them fixing the issue. They said they would be in touch within 2 weeks.

(Transcription from original document. See file.)I have a 30 year guarantee and they are also suppose to come out once a year and do a energy evaluation. They are not complying with the terms of the contract I signed. Also the owner was very sarcastic on the phone. He also was suppose to come out and see me and he didn't. Told me they would come out and check the walls and they haven't. I am tired of the lies and the run-around I am getting from the office.

Part of our service each year is that we will come out free to inspect our work. All the customer has to do is call to make an appointment. This customer has called since March. We told her to get an accurate read on her walls in winter we need to wait till it is in the 20 degrees. She still has called constantly and we tell her the same thing.
Our installer finally got ahold of her and made an appointment for this coming Monday. Hopefully it will be in the twenty's to satisfy her and she will understand the installer is trying to help her.
We have always taken care of our customers. I do not know why she called BBB and wanted to issue a complaint when we have talked to her since March and made it clear how this has to be done to get the most accurate read on her walls.

I didn't receive your letter until December 6th and I am responding back.
The response from the company is inaccurate. I did make some calls to setup an appointment for my yearly evaluation. I started calling in march and that's all I got was excuses. Call back when ***** is here or I can't set this up. I only made six calls and I have them all documented. ***** said to call back in the summer which I did. When I did she said I don't know why I told you that it needs to be 20 degrees for accurate readings. At that time I said can't you set something up now in your system for the appointment. She said no I need to call back again.

I think when they know I filed a complaint they finally contacted me. It was a installer that came out December 1st. Weather that day was not 20 degrees. The installer (there words) indicated he was doing the company a favor. It is said that I as a customer has to go through all of this with a company to get them to comply with the contract I signed. I would not recommend anybody to use this company. I just wanted to set the record straight to their response. I don't know if anything else can be done but I am not happy.
      Thanks,
