      less than 3 months ago we hired this company, Wells & Sons Paving, to install an asphalt driveway. Now grass is growing through it everywhere! Poor work. Do not hire these people.

      Mrs ******** has never notified WELLS AND SONS PAVING LLC by phone , mail or email of her concerns. I would have no problem at coming out to take a look at her concerns if I had been notified. How do I know if there is a problem if I’m not notified. As far as her 2 concerns that she has stated we DO NOT WARRANTY on ANY VEGETATION GROWTH (grass) nor is it our fault that she placed a table on asphalt that it sunk into. If  I would have to guess the asphalt was not cured at the time she placed it there. Our company states to customers anything heavy that  sits a long period of time will sink for instance a motorcycle kick stand.

      We stand by 100% satisfaction to all of our customers. We will not be offering any refund. Thank you for your understanding!

      Consumer hired co. that was going door to door pd. 18,000 for driveway. Bad workmanship driveway is cracking foundation is faulty. Owner **** yelled at consumer when she posted a negative review on FB. Work order was not given to cons. before work was done. Only after which it states co. isn't responsible for pretty much anything. Co. Used skin patching which is driveway REPAIR. Co. also took her new push broom.

      Here are some attachments of emails pictures and text messages from customer. ****** driveway is flawless. She even said how much she loved it. ***** contacts us about four times a week over nothing we have already been out to the residence two separate occasions to fix her issues. That had nothing to do with the driveway she has stated in the email that she knows that we will hold up to our word there is literally nothing wrong with the driveway to fix she is just a busy body who has nothing else to do she calls us at 6:00 am on Sunday mornings when offices are closed and if ***** does not stop harassing our company, I will be filing charges on her if there was a valid complaint concerning the driveway or company we would have no issue taking care of it but that is not the case. I just spoke with ***** on the phone a few days ago and she said there is absolutely nothing wrong with the driveway. As you can see with attachments above. She is stating on BBB that our company use skin patching as you can see this is hot mix asphalt that was installed on a gravel driveway. Thank you ****** *****

      Young man in unmarked pick us stopped by when I was getting my mail. 10am
      They Claim to have had a “Previous Job” scheduled and all stuff for that job was ready to go and the person wouldn’t let them do it.
      Theirs is Nothing in writing at that time.
      What they say and what they do are not even close
      $18,000.00 dollars for 2103 inches for surface mix 404 (not hot)-Power

      Rolling-Skin Patching (use for pavement repair for small asphalt repair)-

      Grading Base there (poor grade,  all flows back to barn)-Cutting grass out

      (which was very little/nothing hauled away in the grading of grass or stones)

      Crowned grading (This is where the center of the driveway sits up higher than

      either of the edges) The reason this is not a recommended tactic is not because

      it is less effective at draining water, but because this kind of preparation work is

      a great way for scammers to give the appearance of a quality job with thick

      asphalt on either of the visible edges, but the center of the driveway is often

      paved too thin, resulting in premature failures of the pavement down the center.

       

      Yes I called you a lot and all you did was cut off the barn doors twice

      so I could get into my garage that your crew asphalted shut and in them

      doing damaged to the concrete floor of the garage.  Every time you sent

      “***” to handle something we talked about  how the drive was not graded

      Properly.

       

      I was not given anything in writing till they were done 5 ½ hours later.

      Then the young man who promised they would do everything he said

      they would, showed up with a Work Order including Price and Owners

      Representations.  If I would have seen this at the beginning I would have

      never use them.  Work order has at the top off to the left side, Jesus Saves.

      What I paid them used up all our savings plus and they demanded payment

      by check that day.  Was told they accept credit cards and there web site

      says they do but I was told there was a misunderstanding between him

      (young man) and his dad.

       

      So much more to the story and I have 10 pages so far of how this

      Company is an embarrassment to the Paving industry.  I may be a busy

      body but I believe in truth.

      We do have this gentleman on our list to get done. My crew has been out there on three separate occasions. Each time no one was at the residence. We will not form any work unless the homeowner or someone else is at the property. I’m trying, but we will be getting him taken care of within the next week or so this customer has not contacted us one time to ask us about coming out. This is the first I have heard of any issue with our services.

      Wells and Sons Paving, aka MVPaving installed a new asphalt driveway connecting to our existing driveway on 7/24/20. We paid them the full amount of $12,099.00. This included a one year warranty. In the spring of 2021 it started to fail drastically with very deep ruts throughout the pavement. They looked at it in July 2021 and they agreed it needed to be replaced. On 8/21/21 they finished the tear out and laid the base. Many months went by. They called in Dec. 2021 to say it was now too cold to pour the asphalt and would take care of us first thing in the Spring. On 7/1/22 they show up to do the driveway. I asked them to sawcut straight lines to match up to our existing driveway but they said no they were just filling in and not doing any additional prep work on the cracked and broken asphalt. They just started dumping and rolling asphalt and were done in just a few hours. I am extremely dissatisfied with the work they did. There are spots that are less than a half inch thick. Some spots weren't rolled properly at all. I feel the work is substandard and not at all the quality of a new driveway that we originally paid for. I asked the owner if he would be satisfied with this driveway if it was his and he replied yes he would be. I don't see how he could be. Anyone who looks at it can see it's a mess. I have photos showing the shoddy work they did. In addition, they damaged two more areas on our new fence. They said to send them the bill for the damages which we have not yet done. They basically wasted their time and money doing this unacceptable work. I fail to understand why they would treat customers this way. An evaluation done by another paving company said the asphalt is thin in areas, holding water and in overall poor condition. The estimate to have the work done properly is $18,985.00. It is my contention Wells and Sons did not perform the driveway paving job agreed to in the original contract. We ask for a full refund and also fence damages of $538.95.

      In response of Mr. ******* complaint 

      When Mr ***** first contacted my company about his areas of concern, my company came out to take a look and agreed upon tearing out areas of his concerns so We removed that area 3-5 feet deep and then installed over 100 ton of stone base. We explained to Mr ***** that it would be best to let ground settle 4-6 months due to ground being soft from tree roots that my company had no knowledge of. My company returned this past July 2022 and replaced the entire area with new hot mix asphalt at no additional cost to customer. The customer has never contacted my company since repairs were completed . To my knowledge I was assuming Mr ***** was 100% satisfied customer. He had contact information to call and let us know. This project has costed my company additional $5,000.00 after first installation between labor materials and fuel cost. As far as fence repairs I asked Mr ***** to submit a repair bill which I have never been contacted on. I tried to satisfied Mr ***** but it seems as if there’s no satisfying him. I am attaching a text message where my son asked him to send us a bill on fence repairs.When Mr ***** submits repair bill for fence my company has no problem in reimbursement of $538.95.As far as reimbursement on driveway my company completed driveway and warranty work as stated on contract there will be no refund.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      In response to them saying they thought I was 100% satisfied: I called the owner immediately upon completion of the job and told him he needed to come back to discuss the broken fence that no one told me about and that we needed to talk. He said he couldn't come at that time because his truck had a blow out on the expressway and to send him pictures. However, I could still see him on the road down from my house. I sent the pictures and he never got back to me, I repeat, he never got back to me.

      They are not telling the truth about the depth they excavated in 2021. It definitely was not 3-5 feet. It was more like 9-12 inches. They are not telling the truth about how long they said it would be before they came back to finish. They told us a few weeks not 4-6 months. But that is not the issue. It's just an example of how they lie to their customers.

      Regardless of the amount of money they spent on the driveway repair, the fact remains we still do not have the quality brand new 2-3 inch deep asphalt driveway that meets the specifications of the original contract. If they had done the base preparation and the job properly in the first place 2 years ago they never would have had to come back. 

      I appreciate the fact they are ready to pay for the damage they did to the new fence. They can send the payment of $538.95 to me now.

      I again ask for a refund of the original payment so I can go forward with installing a new driveway by a reputable company. Since Wells and Sons Paving denies responsibility I request the BBB to consider forwarding this to arbitration.

      As we previously stated all warranty work was taken care of. I will be issuing a check for the fence repair on Friday September 1, 2022. I have invested more than enough time and effort to try to satisfy Mr.*****. I’m sorry I can not perform work to his standards as I’ve tried to make him happy. On our contract it states we are not responsible for ground movement or root damages which was the cause from the beginning after first driveway installation. I took care of the issue being kind and to try to satisfy Mr.***** after my contract states we are not responsible for those issues that caused it. I feel I have held my word and my quality of work but again unable to satisfy this customer.

      On 10/14/2020 we had an asphalt driveway installed by Wells and Sons paving. We paid $7820.00 and received a six month warranty. On 1/17/2021 I Sent a message and picture stating that the edges of our driveway were falling apart. I did not receive a response. On 3/15/2021 I sent another message. I received a response on 3/19/2021 saying that they would be in the area in 2 1/2 weeks and do the repairs. They never showed. On 6/15/2021 I sent a message saying it has been three months and still no repairs. They responded saying that they had us on the books for September for repair and seal coating. On 9/3/2021 I sent a message asking when in September they'd be over. I received a rude response. They never showed in September. I sent another message on 10/25/2021 and did not receive a response. My husband and I both left several messages on the phone. If you could assist us in getting a response and repairs from this company. It would be greatly appreciated. I am attaching a copy of the contract and screenshots of our conversations. Thank you in advance for any assistance. *************************
