May 4th 2023 Had siding put on house. By July it was popping off, coming unattached. I called him, and he came over used construction glue, screws, and nails to hold it back in place. January 2024 More pieces of siding started falling off, and coming unattached. He started a job inside the house, and was going to get back to the outside to repair the siding, but we had a disagreement on the work being done inside the house. Then, I took him to small claims court, and it's still there right now. So I called to get three more quotes on the siding to repair the siding. One said it all needed to come off and be replaced, another said he's fix one side for $1,000, and the third said he'd repair it all for an estimated $3,500 for the repairs of Needs starter strip put on 2 sides of the house where they used J channel instead of starter strip. Trim around windows was wrong, no J channel under the back door, Used one nail to attach a piece of siding, covered the exhaust vent with siding. Around half the house the siding was cut too short. The side they did use starter strip on it is all loose and needs repaired. Some starter strips were too short. The seams were too close together per row and not staggered. Two seams not even overlapped and you can see house wrap behind it. Other seams not overlapped far enough. Seams facing the wrong direction, and used caulk to hold the seams down. Nails on fascia rusting, soffit falling out on Northside of house, no utility strip at the top of siding, and birds are already nesting in the soffit spaces, and more that I do not know how to explain.

This complaint was made only after an unrelated issue in small claims court was not resolved how the customer had hoped for. The original installation of the project faced many challenges due to errors and inconsistencies in the framing of the addition to the property. The rear addition on the house is severely out of level and was not built flush to the existing structure. We advised the customer at the time of installation that we couldn’t run a level starter strip from front to back without making modifications to the structure. We advised that if we were to run the siding without a break or seam, it would take some unconventional methods that wouldn’t be ideal and wouldn’t be guaranteed. The customer told us exactly how he wanted everything to be done and we performed the work accordingly. There were no issues whatsoever found upon his final inspection of the work. He was so pleased with the result that he gave us a generous tip on top of the final payment and also agreed that he wanted us to do more work on the interior of the house at a later date. Shortly after the install, there were some major storms in the area and a few pieces of siding were ripped loose. I came and repaired the issues, again under the supervision and advise of the customer. He has always been very adamant about how he wanted things to be done, even when it went against my advice. Approximately 6 months after this project, he called us to come quote work on the interior of the property. He was still very happy with the siding job. He did state that there were a couple items he would like me to look at and I told him we would be happy to make any repairs/adjustments needed. We then had a disagreement about some of the interior work, which led to the small claims court issue. This was another situation in which he wanted us to do things how he wanted and against our professional advice. We stand strongly behind the quality of our work and we have a rock solid reputation for going above and beyond for all of our customers. We have never had an issue or complaint with another customer. I believe that this complaint is a way to seek vengeance of some sort towards us for the other issue that’s being handled in court. Based off of the behavior the customer exhibited in our other altercation, I can’t be certain that he didn’t purposefully alter or damage the work that we did in order to justify a claim against us. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns. Thank you.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
The complain wasn't made only after an unrelated issue. It was made when it was brought to my attention from 3 different siding companies that were going to fix the siding problems that were on the house. The project did not face many problems, and was never discussed to me by **** ever. The house is not severely out of level. It is level. **** said installation of starter strips. There were 2 starter strips and 2 J-channels used. Never ever said anything wouldn't be guaranteed or I'd have stopped the job right then and there. And if I was a siding expert, I'd have done it myself. And as of right now today, I would have still thought it was a good job until the other 3 contractors told me how terrible it was. There were no storms here that blew anything around. So I have no clue where he could get that at. He did come out and repair the first siding split which was a hack job that I knew wasn't correct. He fixed it with construction adhesive and screws which is not professional whatsoever, not even a little bit. And more siding is falling off, splitting, and warping due to unskilled workers. And if he stands so strongly behind his work let's get 3 independent siding companies to come look at it, and see what they say. The vengeance part is only coming from his side of things, not from me. When it comes to the inside, he couldn't even remember if I wanted bi-fold doors or a regular door. Also couldn't remember that we had a bath tub and shower surround until one of his workers said it's in the other room then went to look for the instructions. This was after they put drywall in the tub/shower area and then said well we'll just rip it back out because the instructions were direct to stud mounting. Then tried to make me feel like I was dumb for them putting in drywall when I had already looked at the instructions and it said mount to stud directly. And if the bathtub would've fit in there I would've never been any wiser to the warranty of the tub and surround. Let's talk about putting drywall in 6 inches past a stud and hiding it behind another piece of drywall in a corner. Not putting drywall screws down one whole side of the window. The drywall screws he tried to put in over wood that was damaged by termites should've have been replaced by him or me, but shouldn't have been drywalled over it. Might as well not have put any drywall screws in at all. That's why you hire employees that know what they are doing. And the guy who forgot the screws that overhung the drywall he said the guy was an apprentice, so **** should have been there watching, and teaching him. Not coming back after the homeowner complains about the error.  After that, I reconsidered them doing anymore work. I stopped all work, they could not do anymore. The idea of me destroying my own property is just foolish and not even worthy of a comment.
      Sincerely,

      ***** ******
