Contract entered 10/11/21 for a new concrete driveway. Asphalt driveway was to be removed, concrete driveway poured, drain placed in front of garage to prevent garage flooding. Driveway raised up 3.5 inches during first Winter. Settled back down to about 1 inch above original level and, as such, our cars his a bump going in and out of garage. Two cracks appeared in driveway. One in the front and one in the back. Both approximately 6-months after project completion. The business owner states one was caused by heavy machinery, but no heavy machinery was on our driveway (to our knowledge). Drain by garage has never drained properly and consistently floods our garage during heavy rains. Over 15 months, business owner has been contacted 31 times about this issue and provided 18 separate dates to resolve the issue. To date, the drain has not been fixed. Additionally, the drain was never sealed properly (perhaps causing the Winter expansion) as the business owner continually states he did not have the right materials. Lastly, multiple areas of the driveway shift up and down when a vehicle drives over them. Driveways are NOT supposed to move around with normal passenger vehicle weight. It is likely these areas will need to be removed and re-poured in entirety. It has been 22 months since the project's completion and I have given the owner every opportunity to make things right. He keeps providing "empty promises" and, to date, only one crack has been fixed. I cannot believe ANYTHING the owner says as every date for repair has come and gone despite many, many follow ups on my part. I believe a majority of the driveway needs to be replaced, perhaps as much as two thirds. However, my faith that other cracks will not appear is very low. As such, it probably would be prudent to have the entire driveway redone.Business response

to me
This is ***** ******* I apologize I wasn't able to log on to the website in regards to ***'s complaint *** gave him a personal guarantee. If there was a crack, I would fix it he called me. Apparently some sort of heavy equipment ran over the concrete, I know this because large trees were installed on the property after I poured the concrete deck, it was 6 inches thick. I came out the following year beginning of concrete season tore it out and replaced it as per my word and guarantee he's left seven reviews defamation of character all across the board I went to find out why his drain is not draining fast enough called" his words , so I dug everything out come to find his drain was clogged due to preventive maintenance. I then made the repair install the French drain and "" his words are I will remove any slander against you once these repairs are made, I've made every necessary repair even repairs they were not due to my negligence only his preventive maintenance not being done which I instructed him and he leaves and debris needs to be cleaned. Once a year I have gone above and beyond to satisfy this customer I've been a man of my word and I have done everything ICustomer response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because ***** *******'s statements simply are not true.We did not have heavy equipment install trees on our property. In fact, I called ***** prior to any work being done on our property to give him the vehicle weights and find what was, or was not, acceptable. Any vehicles we had on our property were below the weight he approved (I have text messages to proved this). We even had the dirt and mulch deliveries rejected because they exceeded the weight ***** advised and they returned the following day with multiple trucks vs. just one.
Further, when he repaired the crack he said it was thicker than what he had originally poured and said he targeted 6" depth, but he indicated he achieved 5.25". Well, I dug around the area he poured and it may be deeper than what he originally poured, but it is only 3.25" at most. Not only is this less than what was originally contracted (4"), but it is less than what he specifically indicated in writing after his repair (I have texts to prove it). I am also attaching a picture of the current depth. Clearly, at it's thickest point it is only about 3.25".
The drain took me almost 15 months of badgering ***** for him to repair. And, the only reason he did this repair was I posted on various review sites TRUTHFUL information about his work and responsiveness (with text dialogue to prove it). Again, despite his claims, the drain was not clogged, it simply never worked. I have yet to experience a storm that will test whether the French Drain installed is going to be effective.
Another error in *****'s statement is that I said I would "remove the slander against you once these repairs are made". Well, first - it is not slander, it is all a truthful recounting of events. Second, the crack repair is not even close to what he promised or said it was. Third, I have yet to see if the repaired drain is operational because we have not experienced any heavy rains. Fourth, there are two other issues with the driveway I to which I have alerted ***** many times (i.e., another crack as well and up-and-down movement when it is driven on). The other issues have not even been addressed by ***** despite asking what he intends to do.
If this is *****'s "above and beyond", I truly would hate to see what he considers normal practices. I firmly and resolutely reject the response as well as the various untruths he has embedded in his explanation.
In truth, I probably will have to have most of the driveway completely torn out and redone. After ***** finished the project, one of his crew members approached me a day later and told me that he was "embarrassed he worked on this job" because ***** had taken a number of shortcuts. I know if/when I tear the driveway out I am going to find more errors that are not already obvious. I suppose that that will be when the lawsuit starts.
Sincerely,
*** ******Initial Complaint

I contracted this business for a bathroom remodel. Tear out old sink, light fixtures and mirror and replace with new. I purchased all fixtures. ***** (owner) came to my home and looked at what I wanted done and agreed on 5/8/23 to do the work. I gave ***** 10 days and times that I could arrange to be home for him to do the job and he chose Mother's Day, 5/14/23. The contracted time was 11:00 AM. This bath remodel was a surprise for my son who is a Sailor in the US Navy and was coming home on leave before he deploys. Here is what happened: 5/14/23 Worker arrives 2.5 hours LATE. Worker installs the new marble sink and faucet BEFORE he removed the old mirror and lights. The worker was removing the mirror and it broke shattered all over my brand-new sink which left scratches and chips in the marble, huge chip on the back splash. Left a dent and scratched the new faucet and scratched the light fixture. He then installed the water lines backwards and used a zip tide it to keep it in place because he alleges that the water line was kinking up. He even asked me for the zip tie, The next day I notice that the brick back splash was coming loose and the mudding need to be done on the walls. It was a complete mess. There were brush strokes on the walls which looked tacky. The worker came back a second time on 5/16/23 and this time he was 1.5 hours late. He was supposed to at my home between 4 and 6 PM and he got there at 7:30 PM. On 5/21/23 they came back for a 3rd time but this time ***** came. He told me that the water lines were backwards so he switched them and finished fixing the mess that his worker left behind. I pointed out the damages and he did not say a word. I emailed and texted him and finally on 6/9/23 he promised to pay for the damages. He told me that the check went out on 6/12/23. I have yet to receive it. There is so much more to this story but I am running out of room. I have all of the texts and emails. I want him to pay for the damages as promised.Initial Complaint

I am rejecting this response because: I'm confused. The company came out and agreed to fix the problem. However, I have not seen any progress so far. I realize I'm not an "emergency" but I'm tired of the unfulfilled commitments.
