I purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado from Smedley’s April 17, 2023 and purchased two separate warranties (Alli, GWC) Alli was said to cover tires glass and cosmetics, the second was to cover drive train and other essentials. Within a couple weeks of having my truck it needed serviced for AC and suspension work. I found out they sold me the wrong warranty and because my truck was lifted which it was lifted when I purchased it, that GWC would not cover the truck under the warranty. So the sales lady (******) said since it was her mistake she had to purchase the upgraded warranty with the lift coverage. ( keep in mind she sold me the warranty and never once looked at the truck to know what coverage I needed) Here we are less than a year later, I still owe $33,000 on a truck that’s transmission has failed and AGAIN GWC DENIED MY CLAIM , bc the 2nd warranty doesn’t cover MY TRUCK! So not only that I purchase the wrong warranty once they upgraded to another warranty that doesn’t cover my truck. I have purchased rental cars for the last three weeks because they keep giving me the runaround, it’s their mistake and keep saying they will make it right yet I’m out all this money for rentals, and still owe $33k on a truck I can’t drive.

Purchased a used F-150 at Smedley's Chev Vandalia, OH October 6th 2023. My moonroof quit working and developed a leak on Nov 3rd 2023 (approx 3 weeks after purchasing my truck). Went back to Smedley's and they said I would need to take it to a Ford dealer to get the moonroof repaired. The moonroof could not be repaired so I had to spend appox $4400 more at the Ford Dealership to have it replaced. I think it would be appropriate and fair to split the cost of the repair since I had the truck for less than a month. It would also make good business sense to keep me as a returning customer and recommending your dealership to my friends and colleagues as a place to purchase their next vehicle vs a place to stay away from.

This vehicle was purchased on an "AS-IS NO WARRANTY BASIS. The moonroof was working at the time of purchased. It unfortunately ceased working about a month after  purchase. As we previously discussed with the customer,

we are unable to participate in the cost of repairs as this was an "AS-IS" vehicle sale

We recommend the customer contact the credit bureaus for further guidance. Each credit bureau determines the length of time an inquiry is retained in their system and records. We do not have the ability to affect that time frame in any way

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
They are the ones who put it on there, they can remove it or FTC will be notified and they can deal with them!

I went in to purchase a vehicle and I bought a warranty on the vehicle he told me that if anything went wrong with the vehicle that they would be able to fix it so that was a selling point for me because I wouldn't buy anything where I would not be able to get it fixed and now something went wrong with the vehicle they're saying that they cannot fix it I believe that was an unethical thing to do and I would not have went through with that sale if I would have known that they would not have been able to fix the vehicle

THE 2013 FORD EXPLORER WAS PURCHASED FROM US ON MARCH 3, 2022 WITH 151,350 MILES ON IT AND THE CUSTOMER DID PURCHASE A GWC ESSENTIAL COVERAGE SERVICE CONTRACT. THE CUSTOMER WAS NEVER TOLD THAT IF ANYTHING WENT WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE WE COULD FIX IT.  HE WAS ALSO NOT TOLD WE COULD NOT FIX HIS VEHICLE.  WHEN HE CONTACTED US AND DESCRIBED THE ISSUE OVER THE PHONE, FOR HIS CONVENIENCE, WE DID SUGGEST HE TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALER AS THIS ISSUE MAY REQUIRE SPECIALIZED TOOLS THAT ONLY FORD DEALERS HAVE. IF AFTER THE FORD DEALER DIAGNOSED THE REQUIRED RAPAIRS AND THEY WERE A COVERED ITEM UNDER HIS SERVICE CONTRACT, GWC WARRANTY WOULD PAY THAT DEALER DIRECTLY.
