      My husband and I went to Blair's Upholstery to have 8 dining room chairs recovered. John, the owner told us there were 2 qualities of form. We chose the best quality. When the chairs were delivered on 4/22/21 the seats were as flat as pancakes and it felt lliterally like sitting on a board. John said that was the way the chairs should look. The total price of the job was $560 and I bought top quality material "Sunbrella" at Ballard Design. My husband called him many times and no one ever answered the phone Finally on Jan 18, 2022 he answered the phone when I called. I asked him for a solution. I asked him if he could do the chairs over with better foam and the same material or compensate me since I am going to have the chairs redone. His answer was no and no. His comment, I could take him to court. No one has sat on the chairs since they were delivered. I did not want them soiled if the same material could be used. There is no order number on the bill. I have pictures of my 2 daughter's dining room chairs and mine and the difference is that they have the proper padding. I do not not how to send the pictures or the invoice that I have. I can mail them with a address.

      Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/02/09) */ I responded to a problem the customer called about and when I got to their home, it was a question about the fabric, which they supplied, nothing was mentioned about anything else. I told them there were 2 different densities of foam, medium and firm. They chose the firm. Our policy is there are no refunds on foam, once it is cut to the specific piece, it cannot be used for anything else. If the chairs were used on a regular basis, I feel sure they would become allocated to the foam. The vendor did not come to my house to respond to a problem. He came to deliver my eight dining room chairs that he upholstered. The only question about the fabric was what to do about the fact that he used the wrong side of the fabric to cover my chairs. One side was beige and the other white. I didn't want to make a big fuss about it, because I knew there was nothing he could do to correct that mistake. In looking at all of the 8 chairs, I told him they seemed very flat with little cushioning. The first time I talked to the vender was at his shop where he told me and showed me the 2 foams he used . There was no question their was one better than the other, and I told him to use the best one. I noticed a living room chair that he had apparently finished and thought that it looked good with a soft rounded cushion. I thought I chose the right person to improve my chairs. After my husband and I looked at my daughter's dining room chairs and our dining room chairs, we knew the upholstering on our dining room chairs was not done correctly. My daughter's have had their chairs for over over five years and they looked like new. Since I knew I had a problem from the day he delivered the chairs, we did not use our dining room chairs at all. I wanted to make sure the material was in good shape if he needed to use it again. Not only was the upholstering done poorly, we were overcharge by $240.00. Please refer to the invoice that I sent earlier via email. Under the first column he wrote, "8 chairs". In the 9th column under the word "Total" he wrote $320.00 On the bottom of the page it reads, "C.O.D" and he wrote $560.00. That leaves no explanation for an additional $240.00. I request the $240.00 refund from the overpayment, and I request 50% off of the total for the upholstering of the 8 dining room chairs. Thank you.
