On October 18, 2018, Tiller Roofing Company installed a new roof on ** ***** *****s sunroom at ** ***** **** **** ** ********. This roof came with a 10 year warranty. Over this past year, the roof has leaked badly enough to require the placement of buckets in the sunroom in several places. Ms. **** has called, left voice mail, and emailed numerous times, and has even gone to the business location in an attempt to have Tiller Roofing inspect and remedy this roofing failure. There has been no response. Ms. **** has contacted another contractor about repairing the roof and was quoted approximately $6,000 to make the repair. Ms. **** and her representative, **** **** ***************** ************* have attempted to contact Tiller Roofing more than 2 dozen times this year, and has had no success.Business response

AS I SAID IN MY LETTER ! I'D BE WILLING TO FIX THE ISSUE FOR AN ADDITIONAL COST .
THIS IS OUR OFF-SEASON SO I DO APOLOGIZE FOR THE UNTIMELY RESPONSE
To whom it may concernMy name is Michael W****** I am the owner of Tiller Roofing.
I am responding to the accusations made against my company by ***** ****.Tiller Roofing did indeed install a rubber roofing system on Mrs. **** sunroom back in 2018, we done it at the cost of $1600 not $6000 as Miss **** has claimed we charged her! I have responded to her calls at least 8 to 10 different times I have went our and inspected the rubber roof and can assure you it is not leaking however I have explained to her that the leak that is occurring in her sunroom is coming from her gutters overflowing back behind her facial Board.
Above the rubber roof there is a shingle roof and after I had thoroughly inspected it (several times!!) I tried to explain to Miss **** that the water is coming down the shingles going into the gutter and overflowing behind the gutter because whoever installed the shingle roof put a 1 inch drip edge on it and it's not going down into the gutter allowing the water to get behind the gutter and facia board and going down into her sunroom.
Which her response is that she paid to have the leak fixed which is not true she paid me to replace a rubber roofing system on her sunroom which I did! The roof was an old aluminum metal roof over her sunroom prior to us installing the new EPDM rubber roof and it appeared to be in pretty bad shape so it would've been easy to assume that the leak was coming from her flat roof.
And I have stopped excepting her calls because she's been calling me for about 3 years now and I've made it clear to her that the only way to stop the leak is to remove the bottom row of shingles install a larger drip edge and replace the shingles and I would be happy to do that but it would be an additional cost and she doesn't feel she should pay any additional money that I should fix it for free and that is not possible! I charged Miss **** $1600 it is a (2) square flat roof, and after material and labor I believe my company only made about $400 to $450 on this project and then after my many many different trips our there I have to be honest I believe I've lost money which I don't care about I try my best to make my customers happy.

I had contacted Tiller roofing in **** *********, Ohio a little over a year ago, last September 20 20 I had a repair of my roof. The guy was very nice, he chose to glue the problem area as he did not have any shingles with him and he thought this would work. I finally got back up into the attic to check on the fix where I had left a tarp in a bucket, to find that the bucket was half full of water. That was last January 2021. I called the company and was told they would get on it to fix my original repair properly. I called multiple times during last spring and they finally stopped returning my calls! The repair initially was right about $329. I just wanted it repaired correctly. It was a very small area of damage. I’ve been procrastinating as I find these issues very upsetting. I just feel like people should stand by their work. And this was clearly never fixed properly the first time. I just would like somebody at the company to come back out and fix it properly. Can you help?Business response

Unfortunately I had to step away from the company for a few months due to health reasons , and unfortunately the one I left in charge has obviously not done a very good job at customer service !!
however we do not offer warranties on repair work I do remember Mrs. ***** contact me in January 2001 and I did send one of our service techs out at no additional cost to reevaluate and repair the issue now sometimes , it is not as easy as you might think find me a link but I do apologize for all the confusion , and if is Ms ******* Has not got the issue taken care of I would be more than happy to go out and give it another shot at no additional costCustomer response

I am sorry it is took me so long to discover your message in my spam file!
And then I couldn’t pull up the message because it had expired! :-(
So I came by your offices today and you were kind enough to print out a copy of the response from Tiller Roofing company.
In Mr. Tiller’s response he asserts that he sent “a service tech” to our home to evaluate and repair the issue. This did not occur.
There has been no evidence that someone went back up on or in our 2 story home to evaluate inside our roof to see the ongoing leak evidence.
The bucket I left in place over a blue tarp continues to collect water from the ongoing leak in our roof that was
never successfully fixed! I go into the attic about every 4 months to check on it & empty the water!I would be happy for Mr Tiller to come by to evaluate the original “repair”.
I am not asking for a warranty it was never fixed in the first place! :-(
I can be reached by phone or text at ************.
I would be happy to send original & up-to-date pictures as needed!
Thanks so much!
