          Advertising Review

          On August 30, 2024, Better Business Bureau (BBB) requested that the business modify or discontinue the claim "Paying Top Dollar For Walnut & White Oak".

          According to BBB Code of Advertising, 1. Basic Principles of the Code, Advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request.  All advertising that may mislead or deceive consumers should be avoided.

          As of September 18, 2024, the business has failed to respond to our request of modifying or discontinuing to their advertising claim.

          On July 30, 2024 Blakewell Farms & Forestry came to the attention of Better Business Bureau (BBB). At that time BBB had received multiple inquiries regarding business practices, advertising, and their affiliation with Daniel Weaver, owner of Weaver WoodProducts, LLC (Dividing Ridge Sawmill) located in Shiloh, OH (Ashland, County). The business claims to “Pay Top Dollar for Walnut and White Oak”. BBB does not have sufficient background information on this business. BBB made two or more requests for background information from the business. BBB has not received a response from this business and/or has not been able to verify information received from this business. On 08/27/2024, BBB checked what information could be located regarding the business in order to determine if the business was licensed, legitimate and registered. There was no website found. The business IS registered in Ohio. On 08/27/2024 BBB sent a letter to Blakewell Farms requesting the following information:

          • Preferred method of contact (U.S. Mail, fax, or email)
          • Official name of business and services provided
          • How business is conducted
          • If the business is licensed and insured
          • Business association with Weaver WoodProducts, LLC (Dividing Ridge Sawmill)



          BBB contacted the State Plant Regulatory Official (SPRO) regarding selling and buying wood in Ohio. We are awaiting more information to disclose.
