I contracted J&H Construction, **** *******, to do repair work to the foundation of a rental unit. He was to dig up and replace the footer drain, parge and tar (weatherproof) the wall, remove and replace about 150 blocks, remove and replace the basement window, add two cleanout accesses, backfill and grade and reseed the area. Also he was to remove one block from the other end of the unit's foundation and seal around it as well. He was to tuck point all needed areas. He did not complete the work he contracted to do. The window has not been sealed around it, the single block has not been sealed round it, he left a hole in the wall that needs a block cut to fit around the main beam of the unit and sealed around it. He also dug up two downspouts that had drains to the road and did not put them back as they were. One he just left laying on the ground (not put back the way it was) and the other one he broke the tile digging it up and did not put it back together properly. This one is not straight into the drain. Neither are affixed to the house as they were when he started. The area around the construction was not graded properly and the seeding was insufficiently covered so the grass has not grown in properly. I paid him $*,*** to complete this work. All monies were paid as he said he'd be back to complete. He is not responding to any phone calls or texts requesting him to finish. It has been 5 weeks now. Job estimate was 1 week to complete.
