      11/03/2021

On 10/29/21 I took my truck in to have a JL Audio sub installed. After getting the work done, I picked up my truck. I opened my center counsel after getting home to find that my tray & money in tray was taken. I had not been anywhere else but to the business and home, in which is when I noticed it.
I then had to wait until Saturday 11/30 to call the store and return to the store in which I did so by 10:30am. Once returning to the store, I asked all who were present, manager: Kenny, Kyle and another installer (African American male) who was involved with my vehicle while being at the business for the installation. All individuals stated that it was the other installer that was there working in the back on another vehicle. I went into the entry way of the entry way and asked that installer, where my tray was because it was in the truck when I dropped it off and gone after I picked the truck up. Yes, I was very upset and yes, my approach was not subtle.
The installer kind of gave a lil smirk and said I don't know then dropped his head. At this time I told him that he stole my tray out of my truck that was filled with change and he yet kept saying he didn't. I then told him and the others that it's not about the change filled tray or the tray itself but is about principal and if I leave my vehicle to have work done that I'm paying for as well, I don't expect items to be stolen out of my truck. I know the tray was there as I had to slide it over to get my weapon out of the case that was under the tray in the bottom section of the counsel. I then pulled up a picture online to show the manager and Kyle and the other installer what the tray looked like. While I was showing them, the installer who was the only and sole one to have anything to do with my vehicle, tried to come over and look, and I told him to get away from me and he deserved to get his ass whooped for stealing out of my truck.
So the manager Kenny tells me that he's going to replace my tray that was taken and that he would have to order one from the dealership. I stated that I appreciated the gesture on doing what was right. I then because of Kenny trying to make it right, decided to schedule to have 3 other speakers replaced and scheduled appointment for Tuesday 11/2/21. I dropped my truck off and spoke with Kenny about adding an amplifier for my speakers and possibly getting 6x9's installed as well. Once I left and got back to work on Tuesday 11/2. I get a call from Kenny stating that installer in question and another installer stated that I threatened installer in question of theft from my vehicle. Kenny then says to me ( the customer) that I will need to come and apologize to the installer that stole out of my truck in order to have other work completed or I can come pick up my truck...really
How is it, as a customer who was violated, have to come and apologize for anything to am employee that stole from me???
I kindly went back to the store, retrieved my keys and left.
I think this whole situation was handled wrong and I don't blame the business but do blame the manager and employee who stole from me.
I am in a professional field where I am a manager and the way I was treated and disrespected, I am appalled that as the customer, not only was I disrespected, austersized, and violated but also not serviced because of an employee not being professional and stealing from me. I would like for this to be addressed immediately and as a customer, respectfully be made whole in this situation.
I can't control what's decided you do as management/owners but I wouldn't want anyone working for me or associated with me or my business that steals!
I can be reached at the information provided on work rendered the day of 1st incident.
      Respectfully, Mr B****

      California Custom Sounds Response

      11/23/2021

We want to be clear that nobody within our company stole your change tray or anything else. Our staff is wall-paid and highly-scrutinized professionals. We also have very good video surveillance, which has been reviewed. Could a movable part get misplaced in the course of working on a vehicle? Sure that's possible under some circumstances. But in this case, we weren't even performing work in that area of the truck. Still, our store manager was trying to err on the side of customer service and called his superior for approval to order a replacement part. While he was busy doing that, you chose to proceed with hostile accusations toward one specific staff member, waving your arms, shouting, and making threats... including a mention of "kicking his ass" and a reference to a firearm and a gesture that implied you had it on your person. When the details of this interaction came to light, the decision was made to decline doing further work for you. It's unfortunate that it had to go that way, but the safety and well being of our staff is of the utmost priority. We have now replaced your change tray, as a good-will gesture. We sincerely appreciate that, when you picked up the replacement part on 11/9, you apologized for your previous behavior.
