I placed an order for an item called ****** ****** *** ********* (an action figure) on Nov. 5th, 2022. The item was listed as being in stock and available. I sent an email asking about shipping times. Nov. 7th I received an email from Shawn saying they were having trouble locating the item but that they should be able to locate it by Nov. 9th and that it would ship "by Thursday at the latest". On the 9th I got a reply from Shawn saying they hadn't found it yet but that they would keep looking. On the 10th I wrote to ask if they'd found it and Shawn replied that there was "one last place" he "needed to check" and that they were having trouble locating it. He said that if they couldn't find it they would issue a refund. I wrote them on the 11th and asked how they could have items for sale on the website and yet not know where those items were. Shawn replied on the 11th that he "knows they have one" and that he'd thought of "one last place" where it might be and that he would check it out then (Nov. 11th) and if not he'd issue a refund. I wrote back telling him I really wanted the item from his store. No replies came until Nov. 14th when he responded in an email, saying that they were "closed yesterday and today" (on the 13th & 14th) and that he planned on looking for it on the day before but he "wasn't feeling well" and that he would "feel like looking for it tomorrow", i.e. on the 15th. He also said he narrowed it down to where it should be. I wrote back later on the 14th and again on the 15th asking whether he'd had any luck finding the item as yet, but for two days I have received no response. I noticed that even a few days after I placed the order, the item still showed as available for order. Today I checked and the item says "Not available". Something is not right here. There are games being played, and this is very unprofessional behavior. I need this item found and shipped to me. This is ridiculous and unprofessional.

      November 22, 2022

      Dear ***** ****,

Thank you for letting us know about this issue. We are a small family-owned and run store. There are only two of us currently working here. We offered to issue a refund early on, but *** ****** said that he hoped that we could find the item, so we continued looking. The last time we sold one of these was in 2017 and over the years things get moved and misplaced. We kept trying to find it, since he seemed to really want it and we thought we knew where it was, but after moving numerous cases, we couldn't find it.
It should not have shown up on the website after it was purchased and when this was brought to our attention, we removed it. This is a new website that was just installed a little over a year ago and we are still making corrections.

On November 18, 2022, we issued a full refund to *** ******. We spent well over a week looking in every place we could think of that it might possibly be, but to no avail.

If you need any further information, please let us know.

      ID: ********
      Sincerely,

      Marcy J********,

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. It's a shame that the business is incompetently run, but this is a common issue with small businesses these days - a total lack of competency and a small staff with communication issues. The refund was issued.

      Regards,

      ****** ******
