Contractor promised to finish job that they started. So far work has been very unsatisfactory. Quote was for $1955.04 but contractor did not supply the $546.24 shower door that was in the quote and said they needed more money than what the quote was after they started. Once I paid them in full to finish the job ( which I expected but never happened) they were never to be seen or heard from again. They will not return my calls or texts and at this point I would just settle for a $500.00 refund and do the work myself. This has been the most unprofessional job I have encountered since I’ve lived in my house.

9.21.2023 BBB spoke with Theodore C*******. He stated that his contract obligation was completed. Theodore C******* also stated that he is not in agreement with consumer's request for a refund of $500.00.

The work is absolutely still not completed. Drywall is very much unfinished. The contractor did not attach the door-stop to the shower and has left my floor a mess.

“Just called me back he is still
In Delaware on the other job he was on finishing up some stuff I'm so sorry I thought when we talked he was leaving... what was your schedule for tomorrow morning or afternoon I'm open since my x ray was today”

That was the last text sent from Chambers Construction to me. Why would he be sending a contractor over if the job was finished? By the way I did respond to the message telling him since I’ve had numerous no-shows and unacceptably late arrivals that I need someone to show with a specific time and not be late. That was 2 days ago and I have yet to get a response

      Regards,

10.5.2023 Theodore C******* responded to ****** ******* complaint stating that he spoke with consumer and parties agreed that business would come back at another time to apply one more coat of drywall mud. Theodore stated that the next day he received message from consumer stating that he wanted a refund. Theodore stated that consumer fired him and he is not in agreement to return to return to apply one more coat of drywall mud. He also states he is not in agreement with consumer's request for a refund.

I did not tell the contractor he was fired. However, I did request a refund after continuous no-shows by him and both subcontractors that he claimed to have hired to work on this job. What I wanted was to have someone do the work when they committed to do so. Imagine staying home on at minimum 5 different times waiting for someone to show up and nobody shows. I texted and called the contractor on 9/19 and no response. I waited 3 days and tried again. And once again no response. It has since been over 2 weeks without a call or text back and I had to work 2 days on it myself because it was apparent that he was not only not going to show up but was completely ignoring me altogether. I find it interesting that once I stated I wouldn’t pay him any more money that the work stopped. And since I’ve already paid over $340.00 more than the job was quoted for and not close to finished and for neglecting my time, a refund is not at all unreasonable.

      Regards,
