I hired Mr. P***** to complete a bathroom remodel, he began the project on Jul 6, 2021. On Oct 25, 2021 he emailed me that he was abandoning the project. This was after I had continued to express dissatisfaction. The main floor tile had unlevel tiles, cracking and discolored grout. Mr. P***** made no reasonable attempt to correct these issues and made the situation worse when he put caulk in the grout lines to cover up the continued issues. Our shower floor pan was not appropriately sloped leading to the shower to finish draining and still have 1/4 inch of standing water. Mr. P***** never ran the shower himself to identify this issue. When it was presented to Mr. P***** he got out a level to show me there was not an issue because the floor was level. I would assume anyone with basic understanding of water flow would know a level shower pan is an incorrect installation since the floor needs to be slightly sloped to allow water to appropriately drain. Mr. P***** responded to me several days later to tell me he would solve the issue by tiling over top of tile to correct the issue. When I asked him to provide literature showing his recommendation was an industry acceptable approach, he responded by stating he would not continue to work with me because of my abusive communication. After 17 weeks Mr. P***** left me with a completely unfunctional final product. He demonstrated a complete lack in skill, workmanship, took no accountability for his deficiencies, and has provided no reimbursement for his faulty work. Upon hiring a new contractor additional flaws were identified: the shower bench was installed sloped away from the drain causing water build up. Since custom glass was installed on the bench over $2,000 of custom glass was no longer usable. He also failed slope the shower niches towards the drain. We had to demo all of his work and start over. To correct Mr. P*****'s mistakes I have currently had $18,000 in add'l expenses. Mr. P***** is refusing to negotiate.
