Red Pine failed to perform and fulfill the agreement to construct a new replacement cedar deck by walking off the job without completing the project. Little effort was made to fulfill the commitment to construct the deck in a timely manner. Project is not close to being finished nearly SIX months beyond the contracted 4-week timeframe. Excuses for excessive construction time were given - much stemming from inexperience, limited construction management skills, and him being the sole worker. We were misled re: qualifications, ability, experience, and use of experienced “crews”. Other factors contributing to wasted time and resources, at our expense, include: plans not followed; nearly every task needed to be redone; squandered opportunities for doing weather-dependent tasks; didn’t have specified materials when needed; blamed suppliers, permitting, and others while it’s his responsibility to ensure smooth progress and avoid snags; not cooperative or open to advice, directions, and assistance; and wasn’t communicative – regardless of our many requests. Workmanship is mediocre at best. There was little respect for our property, time, and customary client status. We deserve the deck as conveyed to him, since on-time complete payments have been made per his schedule. The end of year deadline was understood. We’ve been extremely patient, tried to accommodate his terms and changes, endured many mistakes, and even removed some original elements; yet, his commitment to provide a satisfactory completed deck isn’t being honored. Yesterday, without our knowledge he removed 18 boards from our inventory and left, only to return later, gather his tools and informed us he couldn’t do any more work until he ordered more boards (though other work needs done). To avoid delay, boards should have been exchanged six months ago when delivered. Been here before with him and consider it yet another indication he has no intent of seeing our project completed in a timely manner …or at all.

Thank you for getting back to us regarding Complaint ******** against Red Pine Landscaping, LLC.

You are correct that we do not want to work with this company.  In fact, all ties were severed more than a month ago.

We did offer a monetary bonus for Red Pine to sign a warranty on the work they completed to date.  They refused to warranty their work and we withdrew our bonus offer.

Nothing can be accomplished at this late date through arbitration or mediation.  Our complaint details and desired settlement were well spelled out in our initial complaint submission.  Nothing has changed.

Therefore, we request BBB close this case as soon as possible and make the details of our complaint available to the general public to view on Red Pine Landscaping’s profile.  We assume Red Pine’s rating will be lowered with the posting of this complaint.  It would not make sense for all of this back and forth between you, us, and Red Pine to not have any impact on them.  Additionally, can we have both a posted complaint and review?  As you can see, we are serious about other consumers being made aware of the way this company dealt with our project.

      Thank you!
