I’m a small village girl where parking is free . I parked in a lot that stated it was public parking after Friday . Upon exiting my vehicle I seen a small metal box with a very tiny slit to pay for parking understanding from what I read that $10 is to be paid through the week because the sign is not clear . Had I known that it was not just public parking but had to pay I definitely would have but the sign states PRIVATE PARKING Monday through Friday 7am to 6pm TOWING ENFORCED… Nothing about paying on Saturday and Sunday . My vehicle was towed !! I had to pay $166 . There’s not a FULL phone number so I tried several ways to call with operator saying can not be called . So I called the police standing in the cold for hours to find out it was towed by Shamrock Towing . I feel that I was robbed because the sign does not make it clear that you have to pay for parking when it is public parking on Saturday and Sunday . The sign actually reads PRIVATE PARKING MONDAY- FRIDAY 7am to 6pm TOWING ENFORCED PUBLIC PARKING ALL OTHER TIMES . Follow directions on pay box located at the Southeast corner of the lot . And gives a number to call 8823555 ( only with no area code ) Not being from Columbus I had no idea area code was 614 so I dialed 800 wrong then tried 888 wrong again . I then standing freezing called the police. I was then told my vehicle was not stolen but had been towed !! This was the most horrified feeling I ever experienced thinking my vehicle had been stolen Walking out thinking it was safe and then to find it missing . Being an honest person if I had thought the sign meant I had to pay $10 in some small slit having to jam it in with a metal piece I most certainly would have done just that But I honestly thought payment for parking was expected only after 6pm Monday Through Friday with Towing enforced . Directly under those words $166 towing fee to take my vehicle a few block's Make the sign more understandable!! Sign needs to read more of what’s expected

This company tried to illegally steal and tow my car from a spot I am assigned to

This is a crackerjack of a company. If I could give them a “ - zero”, I would. I have a verbal contract with Giant Eagle grocery store and l’m allowed to park on their property per the store manager from back in 2010. I’ve pulled their load since then and today, all of a sudden I get a boot on my semi. As it turns out. Shamrock towing claims Giant Eagle at 3841 S. Hamilton Rd., told them to put a boot on my truck after 13+ years of parking in their dock area. Well, guess what they lied. The dispatcher named Tasha claimed that the owner of Giant Eagle told her to put a boot on my truck. I knew that was a lie because the owner of Giant Eagle stores is out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and she would never call Shamrock to tell them to tow my truck in the first place. Why because this is not what a president and CEO of a company does. She delegates that work to the individual stores so I knew right then and there Tasha, who is the dispatcher of Shamrock towing was was lying. Most importantly this company isn’t even rated by BBB of Columbus, they are a predatory company for the past 60+ years as documented by local ABC NEWS. My star rating would be a “-0”.

I understand that this is a difficult industry, but I was appalled at the rudeness and disrespect given by Shamrock Towing employees. The first red flag for this company is there is NO manager contact information available, and no one I spoke to on the phone would provide management information. I was treated like I was incompetent by the woman who answered the phone, after explaining to her I am trying my best to resolve an issue in a professional manner. She proceeded to tell me with attitude "you NEED to be more aware of where you are parking your vehicle." In other words, this company is capitalizing on individuals by towing and targeting certain lots with signs that are not visible and posted for people to see. The man working the office of this location verbally told me the lot I was parked in has been "a continuous issue per the city of Columbus due to them not posting signs" MEANING the company is purposely scouting the lot and profiting off of people parking here instead of resolving the issue. Management, employee and everyone associated with this business is absolutely rude, unhelpful and callous and I felt offended after coming to them in a very polite and professional manner.

Last night I parked in a lot at ****************, and was towed by Shamrock Towing. I paid for parking by using the ParkColumbus app, but apparently because I was parked on the wrong side of the lot, I was towed. However neither side of lot explicitly stated which side was permit parking and which was city parking. I was towed to **** **************** and had to pay $156.95. I informed the guy at the lot that neither side was marked, and that I would be reporting this to the city.
