A lousy poorly operated insurance company that greedily refuses to cancel your homeowners and auto insurance and threatens to refer you to collection after you cancelled with a local agent. They have billed me three times for insurance I did not authorize AFTER my expiration date. I have written three letters called numerous times yet Westfield continues to harass me and bill me. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. We have received the appropriate documentation for us to back date the cancellation requests effective March 1, 2024. The cancellation has been processed on July 1, 2024, effective March 1, 2024, with the reason of Insureds request. A refund has been mailed on July 9, 2024, for $10.00 due to the policy cancelling per the insureds request. Since the policy is cancelled, no invoices will be sent as there is $0.00 due on the policy. I have emailed a copy of the final cancellation to this insured.Review from Heather H

This company is an absolute joke and would never recommend it to anyone. We had a claim for our roof, they came out took pictures, the adjuster said it needs replaced. Insurance claims it needs repaired. Our shingles are not manufactured anymore and by law you cannot deface the value of the house by not having matching shingles. Weve been calling, the roofing company has been calling and no one will return calls now. They sent us a $1300 check thinking that was gonna cover the costs. I couldnt even pay a roofing company to climb a ladder for that much money. I will never be using this company again and will make sure everyone else I know doesnt either. They must have employees on here giving it the rating it has because no way its based off actual customer satisfaction.Westfield Insurance Company Response

Westfield acknowledges there was a lapse in communication due to unforeseen technical difficulties with the phone system, that have since been fixed. Westfield apologizes for the perceived lack of response. Since then, requested documentation was obtained, and the consumer contacted. Their claim was resolved to their satisfaction.Review from Amy S

A girl with no drivers license and multiple crashes and speeding tickets that was insured by this company smashed into the back of my parked suv in a construction zone, after me and my 4 children were jaws of life cut out of the car, this insurance company reached out. My case worker was ***********************. From the start she was rude and not very sympathetic. She sent us some law ball offers after 15 months of me sending paperwork that she always claimed she didnt receive. I told her no to the offers, and got legal involved. After another 10 months of her telling them she didnt recieve paperwork, again ( she already had it, and then the lawyer re sent it multiple times ) after 10 months she offered even lower amounts, not even covering medical bills where we were taken to the hospital from the scene. So I reached back out to her personally, since its now been two years and Im over dealing with this company and told her I would go ahead and take the low ball offers, she emails me back I have to make the lawyer reach out and tell her they will let me go, I agree and do that, and she immediately sends me an email saying even lower offers are now also off the table and shes going on work leave and will get back when she can.. this women has a personal problem with other women and acts like we are taking the money from her bank account, shes shady and gives the whole company a bad name.***** and not to mention my car was totaled out, so I lost my car and my whole life, and this woman acts like its all just fine and is very sneaky. Since receiving the complaint this matter has been fully resolved. American Select maintains we acted timely and in good faith throughout the course of our handling. If I could give them 0 stars I would. My pipes burst due to freezing temperatures and I have received 2 phone calls and 2 emails back from my adjuster (***********************). *** called his supervisor (*****************************) and have asked her to call me back, instead of calling me back, she had him call me. Its been almost a month with a demolished kitchen and dining room and they dont care to get in contact with me about any type of allowance for us having to go out and buy dinner every night or the credit to replacing our appliances. This is the most unprofessional company Ive ever encountered and after our policy is up, I will not be renewing with them. Save your time and money: research a home insurance company that actually cares for your wellbeing. I will be going to corporate next. Ive spoken to a home insurance adjuster from another company and she gave me more information in 5 minutes than my own insurance company has in 4 weeks.Westfield Insurance Company Response

American Select has taken the opportunity to fully review this matter. American Select contacted the consumer the same day (1/19/24) the claim was reported and discussed damage mitigation, coverage, estimation, and the overall process. The consumer was contacted the following week to answer further questions on the claims process. Since then, mitigation repairs have been performed and paid for, an estimate written for repairs and payment issued, in addition to discussing the loss of use of their kitchen. American Select continues to work with the consumer on the resolution of their claim.Review from Matt B

After years of paying and never missing, this c*** organization decided to deny our storm damage claim on a technicality. Don't do business with these crooks. Horrible Insurance Company to deal with!!!I believe that Westfield in in cohorts with rental car providers, so here is the catch I was rear- ended by a WESTFIELD CUSTOMER and provided a rental car through Enterprise now mind you my car was still being worked on by the mechanic shop and I was in constant communication with Enterprise to update the status of the car to them, the car took a few weeks to get done due to wrong parts being sent to the shop and having to return for correct parts to finish repair, in between the time WESTFIELD decided to not pay Enterprise any longer and now im on the hook for a rental service that was provided to me based on their insured driver from Westfield hitting me. This is a scam being done between an insurance and rental car company the adjuster's name is ************************* she actually sent me an email stating that the Insurance company was not going to continue to make payment due to delay from mechanic shop repairs which has nothing to do with me but yet I am on the hook?? Will never do business with Westfield and will let others know this company is a fraud no way should a claimant who was hit by their insured customer needs to come out of pocket for anything!!!!. Was in an auto accident 11/15/23. Company had us submit pictures of auto and this is how they determined the estimate to fix auto. The estimate did not include cameras on the car and few other items. Did not mail check until 11/27/23 and receivedin mail 12/2/23. Bank put a hold on check for 5 business days. So my car is partially fixed and having to wait on more parts. Rental has to be turned in 12/15/23. May be up to 2 weeks before car is totally done. The bodyshop was delayed in fixing my car because they had to wait on check and more parts that was not included on Westfield's estimate. Now have no rental and no car. Ins will not offer an extension even though it took them 2 weeks before sending a check to have car fixed.Westfield Insurance Company Response

Westfield contacted our insured, inspected the vehicle and initiated payment within a week of receiving their claim. Westfield has issued payment for a rental vehicle in the full amount available under the policy. Westfield has called our insured to discuss the coverages and benefits available under the policy.Review from Graham H

I honestly don't know where to start. My accident happened almost 6 months ago and I'm still trying to get some things resolved. There has been bad communication or lack thereof for better words. My claims representative was very rude when talking on the phone and she did not seem to care a whole lot in helping correct issues that were made with the claim. On the day of this review the consumer directly contacted American Select to obtain an update on their claim. American Selected reviewed the pending items and was able to reach an amicable resolution. After receipt of the review American Select followed back up with the consumer confirming all outstanding items were resolved and nothing further is needed.Review from Charles B

I had wind damage on March 3 and it's been 7 months and I'm still trying to get this resolved. They have had 3 inspections and trying to match my roof but no luck. One they said matches but was no match. I have had insurance with them for 25 years and pay my high premiums. I have tried to get this resolved but they don't care. I want my home back the way it was before storm. What good does it to have insurance when adjusters won't help. I would give this company a A+ before storm. Now I would highly suggest no one to get insurance with them.Review from gino p

CROOKS!!..they take advantage of the handicapped and elderly!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!..THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED!! THEY PREY ON ANY CUSTOMER THEY CAN..THEY RAISE RATES UNJUSTIFIABLY!!
