I have been a patient with this practice for a couple of years. I had an appointment scheduled for 12.7.2022. When I went in, there was no receptionist. I took a seat. A dental hygienist called me ack to the room. She did the cleaning. At no time did she ask about my insurance or insurance coverage, or the cost of services or anything.
Then Dr. Connor H. came in and evaluated my teeth, he did not ask me anything about insurance or coverage. Then the hygienist sent me to the front desk, and we talked about dental work in the future, I did not pay a co-pay, I did not receive a receipt.
About three weeks later I received my insurance Explanation of Benefits paperwork from my insurance company dated 1.2.23. The EOB says I am responsible for $110.00.
Then I received a bill in the mail from the dentist for $110.00, due 4.1.23.
I called the office and I was advised they are not responsible for me not knowing they were no longer in network for my insurance policy. I asked how I was supposed to know it was dropped. They told me to take it up with my insurance company.
My insurance company said that 11.26.22 was the last day in-network with my insurance company. They said they did not know he had termed out until 12.7.22, when the dentist called to ask if they were in-network, and they checked their records and told him he had termed out.
