Went to an auction on 5/14/22. There were several cars in the auction. 1 of them being a 69 Cadillac Convertible that was wrecked on one side. At the auction we viewed the car and have pictures showing the state of the car. When the car came up for bid, it was announced that the odometer reading was not correct. no other info was provided. There was no info posted on the car and no title to be seen. My friend and I Bid on the car (I was the one with the *** card (*******************************) and my friend (*****************) was the one wanting to purchase the car). We bid and won the car. **** went back two days later to pay for the car and pick it up. He paid for the car in full and a two truck came and removed the car. At this time **** was given the title and keys. It was discovered at this time that the car had a rebuilt salvage title and that meant the car had been wrecked before the current damage. **** then contacted the current owner of the car and explained the situation and was told to contact the auctioneer. **** called and left a VM and also texted the auctioneer and never received a response. **** was also informed that it is against the law to sell a car without disclosing this info (by the title bureau). That is why he was trying to contact them and work something out. **** was the only bidder on the car so there should have been no problem working something out or at least discussing it.We contacted the attorney generals office who attempted to help rectify the situation but the auctioneer provided false info to them and we were advised to take it to small claims court. At this time we are looking into filing the claim but wanted to make others aware of there business practices. We would still consider a resolution.Business response
