On Dec 9, 2022 Y City Auto Repair put a motor in my Chevy Malibu that I purchased from ******* **** ******* Knowing that ******* sold me the wrong motor. Knowing it was California admissions and the head had a hole in it where a tube was suppose to go for a California admissions they just covered it up with a metal plate. When I came in to pick it up and pay them the $757.00 bill they gave me they said the head had a hole in it which they covered with a metal plate and it should be fine. After I took the car a lean code came on and they said it probably Needs Plugs. they didn't give it a tune up. I told them I would change the plugs 20.00 since they were pretty busy. That didn't work so they said it was probably the oxygen sensor 40.00 that didn't work. Then I had them change the Intake Manifold 160.00 they thought that would work, but didn't. Then I took it back to them again and they said it would probably be the Catalytic converter that cost 110.00 plus had a muffler place put it on another 60.00. If Y Motors didn't know how to fix the problems that were causing the red light they should not have continued to work to solve the problems by picking and choosing and costing me all this money. Then I took it to another mechanic who charged me a lot more then I thought he was. I feel that I should be refunded my money I paid them to install the motor.

      Hello Mr ***,

I'll try to make my response more legible than your complaint.  Your Derby car "Chevy Malibu" was in need of extensive repair. YOU SUPPLIED YOUR OWN MOTOR FOR YOUR CAR! DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK TO MAKE SURE IT'S THE RIGHT ONE BEFORE WASTING SOMEONE ELSE'S TIME. THIS WAS ESSENTIALLY AN ENGINE SWAP, THAT'S IT! WHAT DO YOU THINK ANY OTHER SHOP WOULD HAVE CHARGED FOR AN ENGINE SWAP? A LOT MORE! AS YOU STATED THE OTHER MECHANIC YOU TOOK IT TO DID CHARGE A LOT MORE! BECAUSE LABOR IS EXPENSIVE! AFTER WE DID YOUR ENGINE SWAP THIS CAR RAN AND DROVE. YOU DROVE IT FOR MONTHS. HOWEVER THIS CAR WILL PROBABLY HAVE A "RED LIGHT" ON THE DASH FOREVER BECAUSE OF OWNER NEGLIGENCE. NOT MY JOB TO SEND REMINDERS TO MAINTAIN YOUR CAR AND PUT OIL IN IT! JUST ANOTHER PERSON LOOKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO BLAME FOR THEIR POOR LIFE CHOICES! NO REFUNDS!!

Y City Auto complaint#******** - read him the biz reply to complaint -
"the info in this business reply is all a lie"; the biz knew it was the wrong motor (after I had requested the proper one) and they put it in knowing it was the wrong one - which I did not learn about until it was in place, they placed a plate over the extra hole to help with the additional emissions hole in the header but it did not fix the problems, I took it back in repeatedly as they were aware of the red light being on as soon as they did the first work, they kept saying that it is one thing and then another which I purchased and they installed plugs, catalytic converter, and said not necessary to change (the oxygen sensor I think and they changed a different sensor - please confirm with ******); sometimes there was a big delay when I did not have my car and when I would stop to see if it was fixed they had just let it sit there and was not repaired yet for me to pick up (and I was not driving it in between times); the comments were not true and extremely unprofessional; not looking for someone to blame - they could have told me it was the wrong engine I was provided and not have installed it and I would have taken it back to have the provider produce the proper one
