I have a new insurance and had to change dentist. I was seen the first of 12/22 for a cleaning. Mucho X-rays we’re taken and I kept telling the tech I had lost my job due to COVID and did not have any extra monies to spend on services not covered by insurance. I had an oral cancer screening done which I had to pay 35.00 for at my next visit but I did not k ow this when I checked out. I had a broken tooth and it was determined I Needed a crown. It was set up for 12-12-2022. Again I asked if this was covered by insurance when I checked out after my first visit. The receptionist reply was yes we will submit this to insurance I went in for my temporary crown and fitting. I was told at my second appointment my co pay for the crown was 300 and oh by the way I owed 35.00 for the oral screening not covered. I mentioned I had said multiple times to the tech I did not have any extra money for services not covered. I paid it and asked again if my crown was going to be covered as I did not have any extra money. I received a smile and was asked how was I going to pay I paid 335 and then had the crown on my third appointment. A month later I received a bill for 700.00. When I called to talk about it I wan not allowed to talk to the clinic supervisor or the billing person. I was told I had not waited to year and I owed the 700.00. I would have to call my insurance. I called my insurance and there is a years waiting period which I was a few days shy of and I did not know about. I called back and talked to the billing person. On the phone she was helpful and told me I was a few days shy of the waiting period. She told me she would appeal with my insurance or if not see if they could knock the bill down but would get back with me She never called me back. I keep getting bills for the 701.00. When ever I call them I get no answers but I’m my bill they list it as a courtesy call to me I am I. The medical field and I let me patients know if there might be no coverage. More but out
