Wrong flooring material was installed in our home to replace the damaged flooring (due a water leak). The contract specified the quality of the material (select grade of white ***** but the contractor installed a less expensive grade of it (grade 2 or grade 1). We have a report (paid out my pocket) from a certified hardwood floor inspector that confirmed it. The installation of the wrong material is not the only issue we have: after the installation, there are loose boards due lack of nails, pockets doors were nailed to the walls and a handle door was broken, one side door at our studio was trimmed off because it didn't open all the way and now we have uneven side doors (because they only cut off the bottoms of one of them); the "finished" of the floor is terrible (there are many scratches already, just a week after we moved back into the house); they replaced a floor mounted brass outlet for a plastic one (the brass outlet was included in the scope),and they had to remove a section of the new floor in our studio to install the outlet and only because I complained about it many times ( there was an electrical cord sticking out of the wall); a fireplace tile was broken while they were removing the damaged floor and never replaced; after the installation there were gaps between the baseboards and the floor, so after I pointed out, they fill in the gaps with shiny silicone; when we were ready to move in, there was dust everywhere so we had to cancel and moved back into the house a week later. We hired ServPro in Aug 2021 and they still haven't finish the job (19 Jan 2022).Update (24 Jan 2022): In regards of the owner response: On Dec 27 the estimator told us that the replacement of the new floor was not possible. Honestly and respectfully, our concerns haven't been listened and as a ** Army veteran (disabled one) I will fight for what I think is right, as a husband and father I will fight to protect my family (from who want to take advantages from us).Business response
