I placed an order for a custom build trailer in Sep 2020. I was promised to have this done within 3 months. Here we are now over a year. Paid $8000 deposit to get it going. I kept getting stories and excuses as to why its delayed. He called me and said he needs another $4000 for material because he was supposed to get the trailer any day. Again, more stories and nothing has been done. I havent seen not one s**** or toolbox that was supposedly purchased. Nothing. *****, the owner just keeps lying. I got another call and he said he will give me my money back because he just cant seem to have it built and he was having too many setbacks. Finally seemed like a light at the end of the tunnel. Well, again no communication, no refund. Nothing. I think this man is just a liar and this has been a scam all along!

Started trying to do business with ************************* of Wild West trailers in September of 2020. His former business operations were In ********. He was to build a camper for me using a cargo trailer built by Sharp Manufacturing out of Manhattan Kansas. I paid 9022$ down and was put on the list for a build in March maybe April. In February 2021 **** contacted me with a request for 4000$ for parts relating to my build. After that time every time I contacted **** it was always a story, he got COVID (twice) he hurt his back at Lowes, a trailer fell on him In ******** and broke several ribs. I have no way to prove or disprove any of these stories. Then **** called in August 2021 and said Sharp would no longer build for him and asked me to bring my trailer to him so he could begin construction on my camper which was to be mounted on my trailer. So every couple of weeks or so I would call and check on the build progress until the end of September 2021 and now in November 6th2021 I went to his shop and found my trailer still next door at ***** Mini storage right where I had parked it for **** to work on. **** has paid his rent to mini storage or his shop building. Im afraid my 13,000$ will never be recovered. *********************************** the manager of the mini storage said he went out of business. Thats all I know I just want my money back the year and half or so is time I will never get back. Any thing with **** Wildricks name on is poison so if he tries to open a business again he will s**** some one else over as well, Im sure. If you are tying to figure out what I was wanting built, do a search on crawler haulers.

Wild West Trailers *** (WWT), owned by ***************************, sent the customer a quote on Feb 19 for a ********* trailer to be customized by WWT. A 40% deposit ($12,000) was wired to WWT on Feb 22. An additional $9,000 was wired from the customer to WWT on Mar 31, for materials. The agreed completion date was end of May 2021.Due to delays caused by WWT, on Jul 14, WWT offered a full refund. The customer concurred and e-mailed wire instructions on both Jul 15 and Aug 4. No refund was sent. On Aug 12, ********* provided a letter stating that WWT ordered the trailer on Mar 9. However, WWT never paid any money to ********* for this trailer. Thus, the trailer was never built. WWT cancelled the trailer order on Jul 29. WWTs failure to pay *********, subsequent order cancellation, and failure to refund the customer indicates gross mismanagement of the customers money. The customer requests an immediate refund of $21,000 for a project that is months late with no line of sight to delivery.

      To whom it may concern,

Mr. *********** complaint is not valid.  Their money was spent clearly as indicated to them. Their second deposit was initially made by a mailed check which took almost a month to receive. Two weeks into its loss in the mail a wire was made and two weeks were lost at the customers regard(he felt he needed to mail a check).  No money was sent to **************. Over $10,000 in custom materials were purchased for their build.  Which are not returnable.  Our contract clearly states there is no refund on custom order trailers.  *********************** lost his patience when I didn't answer his phone calls while I was on vacation which he knew.  There was sales profit which the business has spent.  His order was never cancelled by WWT.  Instead his frantic calls to our manufacturer put them in an uneasy position with us.  We are working at a partial refund and would be happy shipping his materials to him at his expense.

      Customer response

      08/27/2021

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: the business responded with exaggerations, irrelevant data, and blatantly contradictory statements to documents we provided. For examples, 1) He claimed our money was spent clearly as indicated, however, we have documentation from Sharp Manufacturing that money was never received for our trailer order, 2) He claimed he never cancelled the trailer order, but again, we have documentation from Sharp Manufacturing that explicitly states that Wild West Trailers *** did indeed cancel our order, 3) he mentioned a lost check that caused a 2 week delay towards ordering materials, but this is irrelevant as he never paid the trailer manufacturer, so materials did not cause a project delay. At this point, this project is over 3 months LATE with no line of sight to completion, and he has had our original deposit for over 6 months. 4) He also has not provided proof that our $9,000 material deposit was spent on materials for our trailer. 5) He has claimed that he is working a partial refund; we have been waiting on a full refund since he stated he would do that since July 15, 2021.

*************************** at WWT has not followed through on a single item that he has stated whether written or verbal since we engaged in this transaction.

We have made it very clear with supporting documentation that the basis of the contract is null and void because WWT can no longer deliver the custom trailer they quoted. We expect a full refund of $21,000.

      Sincerely,

      *************************************
