*** ******* brought his 2012 Honda Civic GX CNG vehicle into the Enid shop on or about May 13, 2024, to have the spark plugs and CNG filters changed. He had noted that his car was not operating properly. Our mechanic began removing the spark plugs but noted that all 4 of the spark plug tips had broken off into the cylinder head. He was notified and came by the shop to view the spark plugs. Our original quote of parts and labor was $500 to just change the spark plugs and filters. Our mechanics tried to remove the tips but were unable. We contacted O'Reilly's cylinder head shop in Enid and they said that plugs sticking was a common occurrence with Honda heads and they were unable to help. We contacted two more shops and then towed the vehicle to a shop at our expense in hopes that the tips could be removed, without having to remove the cylinder head. *** ******* was kept informed at each step taken. Unsuccessful attempts of removing the spark plug tips finally resulted in having to remove the cylinder head and take it to a cylinder head repair shop. The first shop, **** ******* **** ** **** had the head for nearly two weeks and had escalated the price of cylinder head repair to $1200. We picked up the head and took it to D&S Cylinder Head and then to ********** ******** **** **** in an attempt to have the tips removed. Each shop told us it was impossible to repair the head and it was a common problem with Honda to have the plugs sticking and welding into place. We informed *** ******* of each effort and offered a loaner vehicle since this was taking longer than expected. We discussed the cylinder head replacement options with *** ******* and he requested hardened valves. The quoted price for the head only was $900 and *** ******* approved that after discussing that with his wife. The head arrived after a week from the Honda supplier and it was taken, with the original head, to ********* ******** Head Shop, to have all extra parts transferred to the new head. The new head was complete with seats and valves and not the usual bare head. The Cost of that head was almost half of the usual cost for a complete head with parts. We informed *** ******* that new parts were needed to install the new head into his car and we offered to charge only our cost. *** ******* used a loaner vehicle for a couple of weeks and returned it saying that it was in his way at the house. He never mentioned anything about vehicle issues but neither did he say thank you for the use of the vehicle. The vehicle was driven a couple of days later to OKC without incident or problems. We have included pictures of the findings of the cylinder head and filters. We believe he did little more than change the oil and put fuel in it the 13 years he owned it. Proper maintenance nor routine maintenance were not evident. *** ******* was kept informed of our progress every step of the way. He acknowledged the cost of the cylinder head itself and we notified him of the extra costs of parts and labor at our cost. *** ******* arrived at the shop and started the vehicle. He smiled and said it sounded good. We returned to the office area and I supplied him copies of all the costs incurred. His invoice reflects retail vs cost, and we provided an estimate of the job cost which was $2000 less than his invoice. It was requested that he sign an acknowledgment of the work order and he said he was not going to sign it. He finally signed it but noted that he was forced to sign. *** ******* commented that he shouldn't have to sign the work order since he was paying with a check. He gathered his paperwork and drove away from the shop...presumably straight to the bank to stop payment on the check he just wrote. A text was sent to *** ******* that his check was returned but he never replied. *** ******* never commented or complained on anything other than not wanting to sign the work order. The company bank provider, ****** ****, notified us of his check being returned and the bank officers told us that a stop pay had been done. We called our bank officer and discussed the events. Our bank officer, *** ****** discussed the events with the bank fraud and legal department and replied that it was viewed to be fraud on *** ********s part. We visited with the Enid City Attorney's office and were directed to contact the ******** ****** ******** ********* Bogus and Worthless Check Division. We presented all of the information to to them and the officer filing the complaint said that *** ******* was a frequent person of interest in their office. We sent a Demand Letter to *** ******* and directed him to pay the District Attorney. *** ********s statement of events are not correct and he is now trying to strike a deal with us in hopes of paying only $800. *** ******* knew, and even stated he knew the fair market cost, of repairing his vehicle. We will pursue every legal avenue available to us to be restored. We will make every effort to alert our community of *** ********s efforts to defraud us and his attempts to issue statements that are untrue.
      Sincerely,

      *** ******* ******* **** ** *** ***
