I handed all of debts and power of attorney to Freedom Debt Relief. Unfortunately 1 creditor did not want to negotiate. It was handed over to **** to resolve. Well as the year or so that they had the case I was sued and they won their case. Why because I was absent. I was absent because every document I received I uploaded to Freedom and at times called to confirm that they were working on the case. I rested easy knowing my fees to **** for the past 3 or 4 years were coming in handy. I am still trying to work this debt out myself and am getting no response from the law firm that has the judgement. I was informed finally in January of ********************************* January of 2022 which I and Freedom were not aware of. For that entire year that they dropped me I was paying their fees. I really would have tried to settle this on my own but I was reassured through Freedom that **** was handling the debt. I had $7000 unused funds which were apparently not needed because no one was handling this matter but the attorneys for the debtors.

**** takes client complaints seriously, and we are sorry to hear of ******************** frustration.  We are committed to resolving his complaint, but our professional obligations do not allow us to respond in as much detail as we wish.  We can share that after receiving his complaint, we reached out to **************** and spoke to him about the situation.  We are connecting him with a ********* attorney in our office to discuss his options, and we are dedicated to assisting him further if we can.  We understand that **************** is satisfied with our response at this stage.

They promptly reached out to me. I hope together we can resolve this issue.

I am in a program with Freedom Debt Relief where **** is supposed to be their legal firm assigned to represent their clients in legal settlements. I had a multitude of issues with *** regarding a ***** Fargo settlement in which **** represented me in. Payments were supposed to be $250 monthly and *** only made one payment then it went into default due to no other payments from ***. I didn't learn this until months later. I then called WF myself and arranged my own settlement and pulled that account out of the *** program and let my attorney from **** I had negotiated my own settlement direct. This happened in 2020. Fast forward to now, October 2021, and I am refinancing my home which will pay off my debt and am supposed to close tomorrow. Last minute, lender tells me I just need a payoff letter from WF so they know how much to send them after closing. Much to my surprise, WF attorney's said there was an attorney from **** listed and they could not speak to me. My attorney from **** would have to call then sign a release before they could speak to me about my own account. When I called and spoke to 2 people in their *** office, I learned that the attorney on record is no longer with them and they would need to reassign me to a new attorney. Asking how long that would take and telling them I just them to remove themselves as my representation, their flippant and uncaring attitude said they had no idea how long it would take for the new attorney to contact me and just wait until they reached out. Remember, I am supposed to close on my house tomorrow. I asked why they were even still listed since they did not negotiate this account. I also asked why they don't remove attorney's that leave or reassign those accounts. They could not answer my questions. I then called *** directly and they removed them within 2 minutes and I am able to communicate myself now with WF to get what I need. After paying $12.95 monthly for more than 2 years, they WOULD NOT do their job!!!

The customer contacted our office and requested that we notify ***** Fargo that we no longer represent her so that she could speak with them directly.  Within an hour of her call, our ****** Services team notified ***** Fargos counsel that **** no longer represented the customer and revoked the firm's limited power of attorney (***), as requested.  (See email notification on Oct. 27 at 11:54 a.m.)   Our Texas attorney also called ***** Fargos counsel around the same time and revoked the representation.  ********* of attorney used by **** is not attorney specific, so it is not revoked as a matter of course when an attorney departs the firm.  The *** often remains on file with the creditor's counsel in case we are notified that our assistance is needed post-settlement.  Here, we were unaware that an issue arose with the original settlement until we received the customers request to revoke our ***.  The *** is also revocable by the customer at any time, as stated in the ***.  We regret that **** did not answer the customer's questions to her satisfaction in her original call, and we hope the information here provides clarification.  Regarding the customers requested outcome for this complaint, NLLGs attorney team negotiated a resolution that was approved by the customer and notified her debt settlement company of the settlement and payment plan.  Given that **** performed the services it was retained to perform, and it ultimately obtained a resolution that the customer approved, we dont believe a refund is appropriate under the circumstances.  That said, we are open to further discussion, and we are contacting the customer to discuss this matter with her directly.

I am rejecting this response because: They have not contacted me as they state in their response and they never negotiated any settlement as they say. They attempted to settle with ***** Fargo but between **** and Freedom Debt Relief only 1 payment was made then they defaulted. These are sister companies where FDR either did not communicate with **** or **** ignored any communication. Because they defaulted on that account, I was forced to pull that account and negotiated myself. I can only assume **** had removed themselves since I was able to renegotiate a new settlement without them more than a year ago.  However, when I went to ask WF for a payoff statement more than a year later they informed me that **** was listed on my account as the contact. Since **** did nothing for me except cause more issues, I still demand a partial refund for no services rendered. To sum up their incompetence, the letter they attached in their response has my name incorrect. If they can't even get my name right as a legal entity they are completely inept and incompetent.

Maybe they should have actually reached out to me before sending a response to the complaint. They are clearly lying in their response!

      Sincerely,

We submitted our initial response right before the Thanksgiving holiday and talked to the customer after the holiday break.  After discussions with the customer, the complaint has been addressed to her satisfaction
