I am currently a tenant of this apartment community and we live on the third floor. I have an 11-year-old child that has ADHD. At times, I do have to calm him down some days. My issue with the apartment community is that I have a downstairs neighbor who complains to the office if he hears one sound from the apartment. In one month I received two messages from the office telling me that my apartment was too loud and now I have the neighbor banging on the ceiling every time a peep of sound is made. My issue is without the apartment even asking or investigating into it they just assume what they want. When I responded to the message and advised them to advise the neighbor to stop slamming the door in the early mornings I was told that they do not appreciate the pettiness and they expect everyone to follow the rules, however, with all the pictures I have of underaged kids unsupervised at the pool, kids playing (or causing a disturbance is what the apartment would call it) these are rules that apparently not being followed. These events that I am collecting and saving are events I believe constitute disability discrimination against my 11-year-old son and borderline harassment from the apartment complex which will be up to my attorney to decide on if need be.

Grandview Heights has policies set in place regarding noise, so that every resident has the opportunity to enjoy the quiet peaceful enjoyment of their home. As the property manager it is my job to ensure that all rules and policies are being followed. When a noise complaint is received we reach out to the person making the noise to let them know that there is a complaint and remind them they have neighbors. In this case there have been three complaints. I dont ask who specifically is making the noise, and would have no way of knowing who is making the noise, therefore claims of harassment are untrue and uncalled for. We address the problem as a whole for each unit not on an individual person in the unit. I requested **** come into my office to discuss transferring to a 1st floor unit today 6.14.2023, he agreed that would be a great option, considering there was conflict between him and his neighbor. He left my office happy that we were able to offer him a solution to his problem.
