I originally booked an appointment for a 1st time tattoo in January 2024. I did tell the owner of Sacred By Design Tattoos, *********************, at ************************************************, that I was having a tonsillectomy on January 25th. He booked my appointment for February 3rd. He knew this could cause complications, but I did not. He did not suggest I wait 8 weeks before having my tattoo done. My friend was there, ********* and heard me tell him this. Luckily, a friend, whose daughter is in the medical field, said they cannot be done until 8 weeks after surgery. I did call my *************** on February 2nd. They confirmed this was true and to cancel the tattoo appointment. I did cancel the day before and went out the next day, in person, to his studio on 2-3-24, made an appointment with ***** for March 30th due to my surgery and was required to leave a $50.00 cash deposit. He gave me his business card with my appointment and the cash deposit amount on it as a receipt for the rescheduled date of the 30th. I do have this. I text him today, 2-22-24, some questions regarding my concerns and got back a very rude, condescending answer saying, "I was throwing red flags, and my questions were not relevant." but he did answer them. After this, I did not feel comfortable having him do my tattoo. I asked for a refund and said I would come pick it up this Saturday. His website says refunds are denied if you are a no show. That is not what happened since my appointment is on March 30th. He then had his partner, *****, try to call me from an unknown cell number to try to "resolve" the issue. I did not answer. Another text string was sent between ***** and I with him refusing to refund my money. At this point, it's not about my money. It's about making future consumers aware of his attitude and what I experienced. If he does return my money, via money order, then I will drop the complaint since he chose to do the right thing in this matter.

I didn't realize this might go for public viewing. Can you please delete my friend Georgia's name and phone number?

      Thank you!

FYI: Since I only had so many words i could put into the complaint I filed,  I did not mention that I have text messages to prove this conversation from ***** and his partner *****. I also have a business card showing I paid my $50.00 cash deposit and my future appointment is for March 30th, 2024 if you need them for proof.

Thank you and have a happy Friday!

To the point- *************** Is asking for a refund. Although our policy is, and our website clearly states, deposit are non-refundable, because of her ill behavior ***** offered to mail her deposit to her and she declined. We would still be agreeable to refund her $50 deposit if it will mean interaction with her will cease.
She did make an appointment without alerting the artist, *****, that she would be having a surgery. It was not until a couple of days prior to her scheduled appointment that she told him and he agreed it would be best to reschedule. It has always been the policy of the studio, in the best interest of the client, to encourage the client to heal before seeking tattoo art work.
It was after the reschedule and deposit paid that she began asking questions about tattoo studio procedures. Sacred By Design is a professional studio and has been licensed by the ******** ********** of ****** for the last 14 years, not someone working out of a garage. It was determined that ***** was not the best artist for her tattoo and she canceled her appointment. She spent hours of the day harassing the tattoo studio so ***** offered her deposit back. He was not allowing her to come to the ********************* of her behavior and offered to mail it. She declined staying it would get lost in the mail. If mail is not sufficient, we will be happy to meet her at the police department to give her the deposit.
We have records of communication available upon request

I have been contacted by BBB to send a response back to owner of Sacred Heart Studio's response. The email I opened made me choose an answer. It would not let me add:  I would prefer we meet at the ************************** to receive my deposit of $50.00 back. He can say he'll send the money, "the 'Ol check is in the mail routine" and I'll not receive my refund! I do appreciate his willingness to refund my money since he has not wasted any of his time or supplies and my tattoo is still scheduled five weeks out. I appreciate you too BBB for helping resolve the problem.

I am available on Saturday's and any time after 5:15 p.m. M-F. If someone could follow up I would appreciate it.

Met with customer and she has been refunded her deposit. It appears a second complaint was opened for communication purposes.

I met his wife and was given my $50.00 deposit back last night. The right thing was done. No reason to post a complaint.

Thank you for the successful mediation.
