      Purchased a cm flat bed truck bed a few months back from one of their dealers big Tex in stallings nc. The welds on the bed are not sound and are cause for concern as this truck will be used for towing a camper and has my source of employment bolted on the back. There are multiple welds that are under the bed that are not tied in the plate. There are welds on top of the bed that have porosity both of which are causing premature rust and will contribute to failure down the road. I don’t feel like this is quality of product that was marketed to me when I paid full price for this product. I’ve tried to get this resolved through their dealer to no avail and have tried to contact cm truck beds multiple times with no response.

      Thanks for contacting us regarding the body for *****************  As a business, we stand behind any and all issues from our customers.  Like any manufacturer, we make mistakes from time to time in our manufacturing process.  That said, we will still behind any issue that **************** has brought up.  Unfortunately, we only received one picture in the original email though his concerns were widespread.  The picture that was sent, though unsightly, can be repaired with ease.  If he does not feel that this product was what was marketed to him, we will gladly replace or he can return the unit to us at our facility in ********. I personally reached out to **************** on two occasions thus far, however have not been able to speak with him as of now.

      I purchased a 97" wide CM truck bed and it was installed by Hoekstra Equipment in Grand Rapids MI which is their only dealer available in my area. The bed is hitting the tires when I put a load on it and it cannot be connected to a trailer which is the truck's intended purpose as it is unsafe. I measured the bed and it is 94" wide. I contacted CM and sent pictures and they agreed the bed is 94" wide and unsafe. They say the problem is Hoekstra's. I sent CM documentation that shows I ordered and PAID FOR a 97" wide CM bed. They have not responded.

      Thanks for the note and recognize that our company is more than willing to support our distributor with any issues that the bed has caused.  It appears that the issue is more with the installation and less with the size of the bed.  We have asked this customer to visit their distributor and the distributor would be more than happy to repair the unit.  When speaking with the customer, he advised that he did not like his distributor and that he was forced to buy from Hoekstra. When on the call with him, I provided other distributors to contact for repairs to the body.  Unfortunately, the customer refused the resolution.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I just called the BBB bureau as I was waiting for a response to my 84 yr old father's complaint that I filed on his behalf.  I now see that the response was in my spam folder and I missed it as my father is fighting cancer and it was overlooked.  I sure expected to receive a phone call as this was a matter of fraud from CM truck beds and ******** equipment.

      It appears that the issue is more with the installation and less with the size of the bed."

      How could you close the case when that is their reply?  I sent the documentation in my complaint which proved that we ordered and paid for the 97" extra wide bed which is made for a wide dually truck (and costs more money) and the email where CM admitted they sent their narrow bed which is designed for a single tire truck!

      When the CM rep called my father he would not even give my dad his name.  He just kept repeating that this was ******** equipment problem and not CM's problem.  He then wrapped up by saying he would call the *** of ******** and get them to handle it and we have never heard from CM or ******** since.  He flat out lied to my father and flat out lied to the BBB.  Incredulous you take him at his word when he has shown no remorse for the fraud perpetrated on a senior citizen.

      We prepaid for a truck bed for our dually. We waited the 6 months for it to be made. We got a call for the installer that our bed finally came in. He told my husband to get our dually ready. He took off our box, hitches, etc ready for the installer. Took our truck to installer today and installer informed us, the company thought the order was a typo and made our truck bed the way they(cm company) wanted to. We now have a dually without a bed, told it would be at least 3 months before they can make a new bed. We have to have hay for our livestock and need this truck. I cant believe they will not fast track this since they are the ones who did this too us. The company literally changed the order without a confirmation. WE prepaid and waited months for the special order. We can not be without our truck. How a company do this? I dont even know how we can get hay or anything. The company does not even care what they have done. Its not their livestock that needs food.

      Thanks for your notice,

      I have reached out to our team and they are aware of the situation.  We have reached out to the distributor who sold the body along with the customer whom has ordered the body.  We are not delaying production to standard lead times as the complaint indicates, yet are fast tracking a body to the distributor for installation.  Please note that the customer was aware of our lead times at the time of ordering, which are longer than normal due to supply chain/COVID-19 related challenges. These are common in today's commercial environment. This process should take about four weeks to complete.  We will ensure that this customer is completely satisfied when his unit is completed. 

      I would take exception to the comments that we thought the order was a typo and made the body the way we wanted.  We have manufacturing specifications, therefore every unit manufactured is the way we wish to make it so that it meets our standards and specifications.  Furthermore, our company and my team care deeply about our customers, they are the foundational asset that keeps our business running.

      I am rejecting this We were told the the shop thought it was a typo and made a different box not made for our dually but for a single tire pickup, and that is the box they sent was one for a single tire, while i agree they build to their quality specs, it was still built wrong for our truck *********************************.

      Thanks for the response.  We will cancel the order and will advise the distributor to refund the money for the body. We have attempted to build a body quickly for the customer and he has rejected the offer.  We wish to adhere to the wishes of the customer which was to reject the rebuild.
