I bought a 2013 Dodge Journey on January 18th, 2024. I had test driven it 2 weeks before this date. I took my step father with me the day before I bought the vehicle for him to test drive, and look it over. Everything checked out. It drove smooth, no check engine light was on, and the fluids were good in it also. I then proceeded to buy the car. Friday or Saturday, the check engine light came on. I assumed it was something small, because it hadn't had any problems just 4 days before. I had it checked at AutoZone and the code for the torque converter solenoid came up. I also took it back to the dealership, and the same code came up. The salesman that sold me the vehicle turned the check engine light off, and said that if it were to come back on to let him know. He also had stated that he would see what he could do in helping me get the car fixed. It has since been a month, with contact every week, and I am always told he will see when they can get me in. I have read up on this issue, and it states that, if it is not fixed, it can cause major damage to the transmission. Which, is also why I have now taken it to a mechanic to diagnose it. There are 3 things that *** be the issues, which include the torque converter itself, that is a ***** cost with labor and all, the **** which will be ***** labor and all, or a transmission, which is almost as much as I paid for this vehicle.All I want is for this issue to be corrected. If I had been made aware of any major issues in this vehicle, I would not have purchased it, and took my business elsewhere. I am a single mother with two children, and I depend on my vehicle for multiple things.
