I signed a contract for a cake to be baked in a brick and mortar store. I found out through Facebook that the baker chose to close her store and bake her cakes at her home. And I requested a refund. I expressed I was uncomfortable with my cake being baked at her home. The owner got angry and defensive she yelled and refused to refund my money. I have a special dietary need and requested a sample of the dietary alternative. I never received a sample nine months later and when we asked the owner where the sample is she never gave an answer 30 days out from the event. She’s been unresponsive to calls and emails for a month now. I downloaded the contract so you can see it. It’s heavily weighted on her side and has no consumer protection.
