I sent a **** Corvette engine (350 CID 5.7L V8) to this machine shop in order to have machine work done. After waiting nearly 9 months I finally received an engine back, but later discovered it was not my own and that this engine had damage that the original engine did not. The repairs on the engine received were incomplete, and there appears to be structural damage to the engine. I want a refund and my engine or a unit rebuilt by a third party.Business response

While it was an unfortunate mistake that his block was mixed up with another. I can assure you that is never our intention. We have been in business better than 36 years and this is never an outcome we want. Now, with that said, the block that he was provided looked identical to the one he originally brought in. The ******************************************************** which we see hundreds of. His focus of the "**** Corvette" belongs to the internal parts making it the engine he is wanting in the end. (ie:his pistons, cam, crankshaft) The block is simply the housing that holds the performance parts making up the horsepower he is hoping to achieve. He also received a crankshaft ground and polished, a set of heads that had a fresh valve job (rebuilt) a used aluminum intake we had that he wanted to purchase, and a complete engine kit minus the pistons. He stated his pistons he had were still good and chose to use those. After he got home with his parts, he called and said we had given him the wrong block. **** told him he would do what we needed to get this right. We do not offer cash refunds so giving him a refund and his original engine is off the table. He only paid for the block to be prepped, crank grind, a valve job, an engine kit minus pistons and a used intake. So the rebuilt unit by a third party is slightly confusing. It seems the only issue is getting him a block replaced and ready to be built. We are happy to do this and get him taken care of asap. Also, we have no issue with having another machine shop take care of it either if that's what he prefers. We want to make this right. However, getting his engine assembled for him is more than he originally ordered and outside the scope of his complaint. We would ask that he return the block we sent when he picks up the new block. In the end we would like to see him happy and we know that once he's driving his project he's working on, he will be. ere...
