I hired **** of Kings custom creations to build an exterior wall for my garage conversion. The wall began to leak at the concrete footer after he was paid $2800 In the description of the job to be performed the footer was supposed to divert water. A water barrier was also to be included. After the leak was discovered coming from the newly built wall/footer. He has stated a drainage system needs to be installed to prevent leaking. He mentioned the siding will rot from water damage if nothing is done. None of this was advised prior to the jobs completion. After 5 separate attempts to seal the leak. I terminated future business with the company. The owner refuses to refund any amount of cash or turn over insurance and bond information. A second contractor quoted me $5000 to take down the wall, footer and rebuild with a stim wall that Kings didn't place.Part of the quote was for a footer to divert water and a water barrier. The footer is leaking because he poured concrete onto concrete.Concrete doesn't adhere well to concrete and allows water to seep in. There should have been a stim wall and footer. Where did the water barrier in the quote even go?Water is coming under and through the wall we hired him to build for our garage conversion.

****** got a hold of my company about converting a garage space to a living space. I originally ran the estimate at $5400. ****** told me they were on limited funds and asked if I would take payments. I told him we dont do that but I would try and work with his budget. He said they had $3000 for the project and I told him I would do what we could.
he told me that the driveway tends to pool with water when it rains and he had plans for a drain to be put in the yard.  I told him we would put a footer at the base of the wall to try and prevent the water from getting in. He later called saying water was still getting in. I attempted to seal the concrete with silicone but to no avail. I later say the amount of water that would actually pool and told him the only way to prevent water from entering would be to put a drain in the driveway. He didnt want to do that as it wasnt in the budget. He consistently demanded more work be done but didnt want to pay anything additional.
he was sent pictures of ideas for siding, chose one, and dont like it. He wanted it changed, at no cost.
later ****** sent me another contractor quote and said they recommended a drain (just as I did). *** offered countless times to come and try and fix the issue but told him a drain was what was needed. He did not want to do that bc he didnt like the look of the drain. With **** a small budget we did everything we could but at the end of the day his expectations and budget did not line up

********************* hired in December 2021. Contract stated work would be finished in ***** days. It took 14 weeks.1/2/2022-4/11/2022 The contract did not revise the dates on contract so there is no signed contract.Hired to do floors, painting, two bathrooms, back door and storm door. The workers didnt work the entire shifts or didnt show up Touchups and cleaning was supposed to be done and was not.Doors were not included and were painted. They were chipping during install. They were painted without permission. Not fixed. Master bathroom door does not close. Utility door is hard to close.Windows and doors were left open/unlocked. Lock broken off one window.Places where caulking wasnt used. Tape was used to cover up things and painted over, now coming off.Hole was put in a wall and after much arguing was fixed but obviously a patch.Different grout on a tile in the utility room that they originally broke.Glass left in the backyard and front yard.Storm door was quoted at $60, he charged me $160.The floors are not level in some areas. A door jamb wasn't put on one of the doors. Lots of screws, parts, and other random things left around the house. The grout is cracking in some areas as it was not sealed. We paid $21,684.It appears that most if not all the work that was done will have to be corrected to some degree. We have proof as well that things were not getting done when he said they were or when they were needing fixed and weren't. He also stated that right after putting the door on that the house settled and that's why it wouldn't close. He was also rude by saying that it is our first house buying and redoing a house but things take time.

      To whom it may concern,

This email is referring to the complaint submitted. Regarding the time frame of the projected work, we had an issue in which the crew contracted Covid-19, rain and snow, and the availability of supplies. All these setbacks were the direct result as to why the work was not completed within the 30-day time frame. The owner was made aware of the setbacks as they occurred. The owner also continued to request extra work to be done, therefore causing the job to take more time. We included the additional doors at our own cost and not to the owners. The master and utility door did not close when the job was started, but they were fixed and closed upon the completion of the job. The storm door price was originally an estimate, not an exact quote. We proceeded to work with the owner on the price of the door before sending the final invoice. It is not in our power to control the foundation of the house resulting in unlevel floors. The owner was on a budget that could not allow a leveler to be purchased. All in all, any issue the owner had we did offer to repair it. At one point she stated she wanted to pay us and not come back.

      Best regards,

I am rejecting this response because: The response he has given is a lie. We did not state that we were on a budget. We told him what we wanted done to our house and he gave us a quote that we agreed on. It was never stated that we needed to use a leveler on the floor. We took his advice and made changes to our budget as we went. Things did cost more but than we were told, but we understood most of the reasons he gave.  He stated that the only issue with the floor was where the tile in the entry was and they removed that to make the floor level throughout. He states that the house settling caused doors not to close properly. He was told the same day that he stated he fixed the doors that they were still not closing. He said he would be back out to correct them and shortly after stated the house was done and he would not be coming out. In the same responses, we showed him the many issues throughout the house where touch *** were needed. The problem was he did not stay in close contact with his crew and didn't realize that they were not showing up when they stated they were. He did not do the touch *** and follow through work that was promised or the clean up from his crew breaking the glass. He also put the grout on too thin and didn't seal it in the bathrooms which cause it to crack and come off. Not to mention the tile grout in the utility room does not match. There are so many other issues including paint, touch***, doors, etc. He mentions Covid, the snow storms, and additional work which may have taken an extra month at most. He ended up taking almost four months. The extra work, he mentions is a storm door and back sliding door, which only took a week extra and the timeframe that it went over was well over that. We also purchased the materials up front so he could begin working. I believe the many photos shows exactly what type of work he gave us.

      Sincerely,
