Appointment scheduled for my daughter for 2/26/24 to test her human growth hormone and I cannot get anyone to tell me the cost estimates involved, the person I scheduled with gave me a pre-services number to call. 1/18/24:8:29am CST called billing left message.1/23/24: contacted the billing department at 9:25am CST and was on hold for 25 minutes. Then I contacted them again at 10:45am CST and waited on hold for 3 hours before I left a message to call me back and then hung up. I contacted them via MyChart (billing messages would not let me message anyone) to my provider and medical team on 1/23/2024. I was able to get the *** codes. 16 out of 17 *** codes were not available in MyChart for estimates. My insurance could not advised speaking to facility billing for accurate estimates.2/16/2024: I called the pre-visit services to get estimates for the upcoming visits. I was given the billing department number to call. There is a loop in the automated system preventing me from getting to anyone in estimates. I tried to talk with the financial counselor for the children's hospital which told me I needed to call the same number I had called and pick the estimates button. I was stuck in the loop again and finally pressed billing questions prompt and talked totalk to ********* in billing who understood my frustrations and tried to transfer me internally. That did not work and I was back in the loop, I reached out to billing questions department again and they told me I would need to get in contact with the Financial Counselor that had originally told me to go back through the loop for estimates. I called her again & left a message.This health system needs to ensure there is a way to get estimates for upcoming services. This appointment was made over a month in advance. I either have to cancel the appointment my daughter needs or go in blind. Frustration is an understatement. Every time I try to solve this it takes HOURS of my day and I end up no where.
