On May 25, 2024 I booked a service with Joy of Couture Esthetics , from Style Seat booking app. That app charges a small fee to book the appointment and the merchants there retain your card information to ensure themselves payment for customers who don't cancel with ample time to fill that time slot or in the event someone simply doesn't show . My appointment was originally set for 3:45 - she sent me a text asking if I could come at 4:30 instead - I said yes but would I be out by 6:00 pm - she said come at 4:15 the appointment would only take 1.5 hour. I said sounds good . At 3:40 or so I was enroute to my appointment and she sent another text telling me she was canceling the appointment- and how she had a strict policy requiring five hours notice for a same-day appointment. *she had a screenshot of that policy found on her about her page. I did not see that information prior to booking - however she made no mention of it when she asked me to reschedule my appointment and then proceeded to confirm my appointment for 4:15. I let her know I was on my way and would she at least be able to get me in at the 4:30 time she had first asked me to reschedule for ( which I was willing to do in the first place ) . She told me how she " went against her no less than 5 hour policy , "as a favor to me" ) which I found very unprofessional. At NO time was I rude or disrespectful at all . Only let her know how it would have been appreciated that she had been UPfront with me instead of waiting until the last minute to tell me about the "favor she did for me" . Then she explained to me how I am what is called a problematic client - bc I wanted a "last minute" appointment and bc I was hostile . I told her that my frustration with her total lack of professionalism did not equate to hostility. Then very shortly after that -I got an email notification that *** had received payment of $120 for not showing up for my 4:15 - 6:15 time slot
