October 20, 2021 I contacted 123 Remodeling and spoke with *****, asking him to diagnose and seal roof structures that had been damaged by a recent hailstorm at *********************************. I told him the roof was only a few months old and another roofer had pronounced the roof intact after the storm but that the structures should be sealed. ***** told me he would come and look at the roof. He never did agree to seal the structures. I agreed he could come and look at the roof and tell me whether he thought I needed a new roof. I alerted my renters that someone would be on the roof at 9:30 AM inspecting but would not be coming in. That night ***** sent me text messages and charts to tell me I would probably need a new roof. On October 21 ***** went to the house and took photos and sent me the following text, This is going to fall under our minimum of $550. It appears that several metals have been reused, and set incorrectly. I did not even reply to that text because I took it to mean that since the work was under his minimum level of $550, (and that was the first time I ever heard that figure,) he would not be doing the work and he probably had left and would let me know later whether he thought I needed a roof, which is what he said he was going there for. 44 minutes later he texted asking me how I was going to pay. I text responded asking what I was going to pay for, asked him what he was going to do? He texted back that he had completed the repair. I found him to ask why he would have done such a thing without authorization. He said I had told him to go do the work. I said no, he did not agree to do the work but rather wanted to give me his opinion on whether I needed a roof. And I never heard anything about $550 until after he said he did the work. He had not given a written estimate or an invoice and wanted me to pay $550. I said I would consider $200. He said he would charge me $275. I said fine, I will pay that and report you to the BBB. I paid $275.
