My husbands sister passed away suddenly in February. She was his Moms PoA and beneficiary. My husband got a new PoA and incredibly has had to make half a dozen calls simply to get a change in beneficiary form. They repeatedly promise to email the form and do not. Theyve mailed it to an old address multiple times despite us informing them it is wrong Were filing a complaint with the Tennessee Insurance Commissioner.Review from Latricia G

This company is not doing what the advertising of company says. My grandson born 12/11/23 passed away a month later i had a policy and they decided to **** claim saying a question about 3 year chronic illness answer wrong. My grandmother opened a policy on me back in 2009, she passed away in November 2021. ** had my grandmother's name spelled incorrectly, making it difficult to change ownership although letters sent to my grandmother had her name spelt correctly. I sent the death certificate and requested to change my beneficiary to my mother. I received an "annual statement" in the mail dated for 6/5/2024 which included interest. Nothing on my online account indicates an issue with my policy, nor an option to pay via phone or online. When contacting Globe Life, they were not only unapologetic, they couldn't explain to me what the specific issue was, nor why I was not communicated with for issues with billing. They were unable to find multiple payments made though I had the history loaded in front of me. I also realized they still had my deceased grandmother listed as my beneficiary. I also was unable to locate the complete terms to my life insurance policy. Below is the list of transactions made prior and post the death of my grandmother: Date Amount months Due Date 10-12-23 $122.161209-05-23 07-26-23 $32.37306-05-23 04-04-23 $61.08612-05-22 01-24-22$122.161212-05-21 12-05-21$10.99112-05-21 11-07-21$10.99111-05-21 I missed 4 months between Jan-April 23, but they were paid back I do not understand where this letter came from, why I was not contacted after 105 days of nonpayment last year, why I am just now being charged for something I have already paid and made up for, and why no information is available on their outdated website. Trust is paramount for a life insurance company and these egregious mistakes have lost my trust and made me understand exactly why there was a *** probe conducted on possible fraud. The only resolution was to surrender my policy and receive $280 for 15 years of being a loyal customer. My grandmother would be disgusted.Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company Response

I called this company on January 19 to surrender the policy that my mother has been paying monthly on for 40 years. The policy was only worth ******, and I calculated that shed paid over ***** to maintain this life insurance policy for so long. It was surprising to hear that closing the policy would only result in a check for $1590. I spoke to a person named **** who gave me directions on what information to send via email, and I sent the email that day. Then I was told weeks later that the information needed to be in the form of a letter, so in March, I sent the information the way they wanted it: drivers license, PDF letter, with my contact information, and mailing address in several places. After I had heard nothing and received nothing, I called again on 4/10 and spoke with ******* who told me a check had been issued. A check in the amount of $112.50 came to my correct address (as noted through multiple correspondences), but the other check for $1480.50 was sent to a different address. This is AT BEST incompetence! In reality, this company systematically makes it as difficult as possible to close and collect on an account, and they need to be audited. Id also like to make sure that the amount of money I collected is actually correct since they cannot be trusted. Its a total scam. Still sending me invoices after I already pay d a quarterly premium and thats when I noticed my last name was misspelled and also my email address and I realized that it was intentional! I googled and saw there was recent negative media attention about them which affected their which is well as to be expected when they are deliberately stealing peoples hard earned money when all we are trying to do is protect and or secure our family members. Since our mailings are prepared several months in advance you might continue to get Globe Life information for another 30 to 60 days. I've been a policy holder for 10+ years and I've been receiving mail saying you guys aren't getting my payments to each of my policies. (I'm paying twice or even three times) regardless of how I pay through the mail or over the phone it's always an issue with you guys receiving my payments. I will pay it several times and it will only reflect a one time payment. I never receive any more back from the multiple payments nor does it goes towards my next bill I'm just out of money each time I have to pay it. I'm beyond frustrated with this company my husband recently passed and I was told that his policy had lapsed because of an unpaid bill that was paid. I had to write a letter to be considered only for me to receive a letter saying that his policy was in good standing. It makes zero sense and I feel like this company has been stealing my money for months. I try calling and I'm hold for 30 mins or even longer and when I finally do get someone they can't explain anything to me they only insist I pay a bill that's already been paid to keep my policies current. I keep track of my money orders and even though I can prove I paid the bill for that time you guys insist I pay it again because globe life didn't receive it so it doesn't matter that I have a money order stub (globe life representative said that directly to me via phone). This place is a scam and someone is stealing or preying on vulnerable people. If this can't be resolved I will take my business elsewhere because this is unprofessional and ridiculous.Review from Ernest C

Globe Life continues to email me **************************** and asking me to to send more information for a refund of 30 dollars for a policy that wouldn't put my wife on a policy of life insurance and I cancel it and ask for a refund which they have ask me to send my address, birthday bank statement now they want me to fax a letter saying that I want a refund everytime send information they come back asking for more paperwork for a 30 dollar refund.Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company Response

Salesperson told me multiple LIES about the policies(3) bait and switch was kind of what he did but I think it was outright lies. He told me that in 20 years I would have enough to borrow on to send my grandson to college for 4 years, in 20 years I will have paid enough to borrow $1500. Our son was born on 9/1/2022, we opened his policy on 9/14/2022 the same thing we did for our 4 year old son. He unfortunately passed away February 2024. They are not only contesting it but refusing to provide any update, they gave blind numbers for medical records without any specifics for what they need. We spent all of our savings on our childs burial, we took policies out and updated Globe Life as his health declined. They were advised of things as we became aware of them, this policy should have been paid out already and they are likely going to fraudulently deny the claim. Dont spend your money with this company, youre wasting your time. My son was not a girl so when your CSR constantly calls him a girl its just annoying on top of not doing what you should be doing.
