Years ago I had Farm Bureau insurance. When their rates went significantly higher I cancelled my insurance with them. At that time they suggested I go with Progressive. They helped me sign up with them. Since 2015 they have been trying to charge me Farm Bureau Membership dues when I don't hold any policies with them. I handle all my Progressive insurance needs on my own through the Progressive app and through their customer service. As of7-22-2021, Progressive agent states they have never heard of Farm Bureau insurance charging Farm Bureau Membership Dues for Progressive customers. Farm Bureau, customer service rep has sent several emails threatening to cancel my Progressive insurance if I don't pay their membership dues which I don't use. They suggested I immediately cancel my Progressive Policy as it listed a Farm Bureau insurance as an "agent" as they helped me sign up in 2015. Progressive suggested a Direct Policy through them where no agent is listed. I did.Business response

In order to have insurance with Oklahoma Farm Bureau memberships dues are collected because we are a membership organization. We also have various brokerage options such as Progressive that can be sold to members as part of our insurance services. In these cases the Agent still has to collect the dues, if you go direct to the carrier in most instances you don't have a local Agent or the need to pay dues.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I did not have any Farm Bureau Membership benefits as I rejected the insurance rates from Farm Bureau and also advised them this.They only offered to help me "sign up" for Progressive when I reject their quotes.
Seeing as I serviced my Progressive account through my Progressive app.. changing my policy, adding/removing cars, etc. Farm Bureau had no hand in that.
I believe it is misleading and fraudulent to charge Progressive customers -Farm Bureau Membership Fees when the Progressive customer has NOTHING to do with Farm Bureau.
If I wanted Farm Bureau.. I would have a policy with them.
