      On 20 Sept. 2022, I contracted Butler Plumbing to hook up a brand new gas room heater that I recently purchased. I was told they were capable of the job by both customer service and the installer, *********I later had trouble with the heater. It would not stay lit. I called the gas company to check the gas line. They said everything was in order and to have a licensed **** tech look at it.As I later found out from the **** tech who came to look at it, **** had left the instruction manual wrapped in plastic inside the heater. This is what was causing the heater's safety mechanism to trip, forcing it to shut off randomly. Also, bits of the paper manual and its plastic wrapping have fused to the heat exchanger. This has caused damage to the heat exchanger and shortened the life of the heater, due to the incompetence of the installation tech. That is, **** from Butler Plumbing.Butler Plumbing refuses to acknowledge damage to my heater, and will not provide recompense. They also assert no wrongdoing, claiming they don't know much about gas heaters. This is despite the fact I was assured before installation by two people in their company that they were able to competently perform the work.I have been trying for two weeks to seek an amicable solution with ***************************, the company President. This has failed to the point that he is becoming argumentative and hanging up on my calls. I seek a refund of installation services and payment for the value of the damaged gas heater. This comes to $1,892.11

      **************** hired us on Sept. 20, 2022 to hook up gas to a heater and that is what we did.  We do not supply heaters or any HVAC equipment and we do not warranty owner provided equipment.  Yesterday I tried explaining this to him on the phone and he hung up on me.  We would be glad to hook up a new heater free of charge if he gets the defective one replaced.

      I am rejecting this response because: I understand they do not and cannot warranty customer purchased products. That is not the point. The point is I hired Butler Plumbing to connect my gas heater on the grounds that they expressed confidence they could do the job correctly. They did not, and their tech's negligence destroyed my brand new heater and made it unsafe to operate. I cannot accept allowing them to hook up a new heater as an amicable solution, since ********************** has already told me their company does not have much experience with the devices. I also cannot justify purchasing another brand new heater after they destroyed the one I purchased three months ago and voided the manufacturer's warranty on. To ask them to attempt to install a second brand new heater  after they've already ruined one brand new heater is not an acceptable solution Had I know of their inexperience with gas heaters beforehand, I would NOT have hired them in the first place.

      From my point of view, they have destroyed my property. Regardless of any official warranty status I believe they should reimburse me for said property.

      Also, it was my impression that ******************************* up on me. I guess they were having phone issues that day as I was disconnected twice before finally reaching him. Not a big deal but just want to be clear on that.
