We have had ongoing issues with this company since roughly the end of February/beginning of March. At the beginning of the year we lost our home, so we decided to use a local storage facility to store the items we managed to save. When we very first signed the lease agreement we were supposed to get 1 free month of storage, but come the first of the following month were charged anyways. Unfortunately, that's where the problems first began. Since being involved with this company they have gone through countless managers for our location alone, and most of them were very..."unkind and unprofessional" to say the least. When we were having issues with the free month promotion and tried getting in touch with their corporate office, it resulted in them blocking our numbers and refusing to speak with us. It was at least 2.5-3 months before we finally were issued a refund for being wrongfully charged. Then, on June 3rd this year we received a notification stating that they were terminating our lease at the facility and had 14 days to have our items removed. Our unit was paid up and nothing owed up to that point, so we tried contacting the facility to get some clarification on why our lease was being terminated. She said she would reach out to corporate and get back to us. We tried checking in on this matter almost daily to see if she had received any clarification on the matter, but she simply said "they told me to tell you to refer to your lease agreement. That's all the information I have." We explained that we had read through the entire agreement and didn't see any rules we broke, but she just kept repeating the same thing. To try and allow us at least the month of June to retrieve our belongings, we made sure they were paid for the month of June too. However, even though they were paid, they still denied us access to get the rest of our stuff from our unit and now said we won't be allowed back to get the rest of it. We have a uhaul now, we just want our belongings.

Thanks for your quick response and action.  Yesterday I received my refund check so my problem is solved.  I consider the matter closed.

My grandmother signed a lease agreement on April 20th, 2020 with Summit Peak Self Storage which has since changed there name to Storelocal Midwest. It has been a horrible experience since January of 2021. The original payment for a 10x30 unit was $160 + $9 for insurance for a total of $169 and that's what she paid for 8 months. Beginning in January her payment went up $9 without any kind of notice. So from January to June her payment was $178 and that lasted for 5 months. Then in July it went up again $8 making her payment $195 and once again without a notice. Currently she is paying $229. We have reached out to the store manager, district manager, and also corporate and no results. I don't understand how a business can modify/change prices at the leisure at anytime without a written notice. We are desperately in need of help.
