These folks were recommended by my insurance company, they painted portions of my truck the wrong color, then told me my paint was faded, paint doest fade darker, I was told this from numerous other body shops. I went back with this information and they refused to make it right. They stated they would fix it by painting the rest of the truck to match the new paint for $6000. I refused, it wasnt my fault they screwed up. This job has depreciated the value of my truck.. I'm ready to sue.

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/05/12) */ Contact Name and Title: Wayne Jones Contact Phone: 918-825-1232 **************************************** The customer is correct that exterior paint that we applied to his vehicle panels, that were damaged in collision, does not match the paint on the exterior of his vehicle, on panels that we did not paint. We explained to him that his vehicle color is very vulnerable to fading over time, and that our industry has no method that I am aware of to match paint that has faded beyond a certain point, which his paint is. We showed the customer that the best we could do was match the original color of his truck, which is still present on his truck in areas that have not been exposed to UV rays from the sun over a period of time. The color we painted his truck matches that color, which can still be demonstrated on the truck today. His only option to achieve universal color match on his vehicle was to paint the entire vehicle. Due to the amount of surface area that was not affected by his collision, and the condition of that sheet metal and paint, that was a costly option that neither he, nor his insurance company wanted to pay for. Just in case I was wrong and there was a company that could match the old, faded paint that he had on his truck, I offered, should he be able to provide me a sample of a color that another shop had created that matched his old paint, that I would pay for that shop to repaint the panels that our shop had painted, so that his color would match uniformly on the entire truck. To date, he has not provided this sample. For consideration, when the wrecked truck arrived at our shop, the paint was heavily oxidized throughout, and was peeling off the truck in a number of places. There are a couple of possibilities that could create this, those being previous refinish work having been done to poor quality standards, or poor maintenance of the paint coupled with a lot of exposure to the sun and elements. Both situations can make creating a color match impossible (to the best of my knowledge of all techniques, practices, and products currently available in our industry). The customer may have been misinformed regarding how his vehicle's color changes over time. It is fairly well known amongst reputable and experienced personnel in our industry, that certain solid, non-metallic red colors, will in fact darken over time, as the red pigment dissipates over time with exposure to UV rays, leaving visible the other pigments which were used in the creation of his vehicle color, and in this case, as is the case with others, the remaining visible pigments are darker in appearance than his original red. I have personally experienced this as well with my own vehicles, 1 of which I still own, and can submit as evidence if needed. (please see attached)
