My review is a POSITIVE for the Stroud Kill Pen in Stroud Oklahoma. They are a fantastic horse rescue organization to deal with and I highly recommend supporting them either in funds, donations or purchasing a rescue horse, mule, pony or donkey.On August 24th of 2021, I saw a horse that I liked on their FB website and I was interested in purchasing it. I called the number on their Website but it was after hours (8:30 pm approx) and I left a call back number. Within 15 minutes I received a return call from the person in charge. After conversing with her on the phone, she informed me that the policy was first come first serve and if I wanted to hold a horse I would have to pay a non-refundable deposit. Being that it was a reasonable amount, I paid using my credit card. I asked for an invoice and one was sent via email showing the purchase price of horse and my deposit plus boarding fees and the balance due. I live in Oklahoma but was out of town in ***** and informed her that I wouldn't be able to pick the horse up until 4 or 5 days later on Monday or Tuesday once I got back in town. She informed me that either day would be fine but also informed me about the boarding fees that would be charged per day. She was very articulate in her information and very pleasant, friendly, and professional. I got back to Oklahoma on Monday and immediately headed the 2 hours down to Stroud to pick up my new horse. Once there, I paid cash on the balance for my horse plus the boarding fees and they immediately helped me load my horse into my trailer. Upon getting ready to leave, I noticed that I had paid an extra 2 days board fee and went back and informed them, to which they immediately gave me my cash back. I was and have been very satisfied with the Stroud Kill Pen in Oklahoma and I am glad that I was able to give a beautiful sweet horse a second chance because of their unwavering devotion and dedication to saving neglected, abandoned, and discarded horses. I highly recommend them
