We hired Master Lift to do some structural and remodel repairs to our home and paid him 7,500 dollars on August 24, 2022 to start the job. After starting the job and tearing holes in our kitchen ceiling, they said they needed engineered plans to do a large portion of the job. After getting engineered plans to Master Lift and verifying they received them, the company will not return phone calls or emails for weeks. My husband and I have tried to reach them at least 20 times and can't get a hold of anyone. We are now having to hire another company and Master Lift just took our money and left our house unfinished. I asked for money back and they will not respond.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2023/02/03) */ The complaint is not telling the whole story. We were paid for the work that was completed in the crawlspace portion of the home. The homeowner has yet to verify we did the work, but has jumped the gun and is making uneducated assumptions. We did not request access to this vacant home to go in and do nothing for 5 days. The work you've paid for is complete. This is a two phase project and they are adding a second level to the home. This requires the installation of a new LVL support beam, which is completely unrelated to what you've paid for. We did open up the ceiling in the area where the new lvl beam was to be installed to ensure the rafters were facing the right direction. We discovered the joists were not running the direction we originally thought they were. We then contacted the engineer to discuss this and requested the homeowner have the engineer come back to look at it and draw up a new plan to make the installation of the new lvl beam work. This process actually took the homeowners 2-3 months to complete. This project appears to be self funded, rather than a construction loan so lack of funds is likely the reason for delays on their end. This is a renovation and addition project they have been in possession of for over a year. We too made several attempts to contact them early on in the process and received "we will discuss and let you know" answers on more than one occasion. Being indecisive and under prepared for a project of this magnitude is a contributing factor to their own frustration. We have now agreed to meet on-site to review the work they have paid for an received. We did not take your money and do nothing. You are wrong in your assumptions and we will prove this to you upon our meeting.Initial Complaint

WE purchased a house that Master lift supposedly worked on. we are now in the process of selling said house and we had inspections yesterday. The structural inspector looked under the house and saw no evidence of any piers being put in like the invoice we have from master lift said. The invoice indicates that 6 piers were placed and a vaper barrier were installed and a beam running the length of the structure but the inspector saw only the vapor barrier no piers and no beam. I want master lift to 1. provide the structural plans they drew up for the piers and if they cant I want them to install the piers they said they did then now.Business response

Did a foundation repair on the house I had purchased and less than 6 months after purchase I have multiple issues with foundation cracks including a huge one in the kitchen that was never stitched together as recommended by the engineer. Within less than a year of their initial work one of the owners came out to inspect for warranty work and said not of it was from theft original work and suggested about 16 more piers along with the adjustment of 2 previous piers that were not suggested by the engineer less than the year before. I think they had done just enough work on the one area the engineer had requested in order to make money and keep people using them because of the warranty. They are scam people out of their money and people like me are stuck in a home constantly settling and floors buckling.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/20) */ Contact Name and Title: Steve Glasscock - Preside Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: ****@MasterLiftFoundation.com ***, we have not heard from you since January 3rd, 2021. Upon our inspection we discovered only 3 of the previously installed piers needed to possibly be adjusted. I also welcomed you to contact your engineer for another inspection and you stated money was tight and you said you could not afford the additional piers. The area of concern had nothing to do with previous work. I understand money is tight and we even offered you financing. The fact you stated you didn't have the money for repairs does not make us scam artists. We stand by our work and we have clients who will confirm that. The fact you show up a year and a half later after making zero attempts to reach us and call us scam artists through a BBB complaint is unfair to us in your loose mission to resolve your structural issues. We've offered you financing and originally bent over backwards to accommodate your needs to no avail. You should take this up with your engineer as we have complied to and repaired things to his original specifications.Initial Complaint

I recently moved into a new home where Master Lift had done some foundation work. They had replaced the piers in the home. The work was under warranty and is supposed to be transferable. After attempting to contact Mast Lift by calling them, emailing them, and even going to their physical office, They would only correspond with me via text. They texted me in November and told me to mail them a $150 transfer fee, which I did. I have texted them multiple times requesting the documentation of the transfer but they continue to make excuses. It is now February and I have yet to receive any official documents. I have uploaded the text conversation. They never emailed or mailed me anything.
