Review for 2 men & a truck I recently hired 2 Men & a Truck to move a few items on May 13, 2024. I paid $600 for them to move a mattress, a dresser, a nightstand, a headboard, and a TV. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a terrible experience.Upon delivery, I discovered that my TV was broken and damaged. The movers did not inform me beforehand that my television required a moving box for protection, which led to this unfortunate outcome. This level of carelessness is unacceptable, especially considering the high cost of the service.Adding to my frustration, I contacted the claims department immediately, but they were of no assistance whatsoever. I expected a prompt and helpful response, but instead, I was met with indifference and no resolution to my issue. Moreover, the moving process itself was incredibly inefficient. Two of the movers spent an entire hour just moving my couch from the storage unit, while the third mover had to handle everything else on his own. This not only slowed down the entire process but also demonstrated a lack of teamwork and efficiency. It felt like the company hires lazy workers who don't care about handling customers' valuable items properly.I do not feel that my money or time was appreciated. For $600, I expected a professional and efficient service, but what I received was far from it. This companys lack of transparency about necessary precautions, poor customer service, and inefficient, careless movers make it clear that they do not prioritize their customers' belongings or satisfaction. I would not recommend 2 Men & a Truck to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and look for a more reliable moving service. This felt like a scam scheme rather than a professional moving service. Two Men And A Truck Response

I’ve moved with this company a few times now and my last move was by far my worst experience. The men didn’t hustle like I previously experienced. They stood around in groups multiple times then took group vape breaks that I was still charged $250 for the break. They did have a 30 minute lunch break where I wasn’t charged but that doesn’t account for the all the multiple breaks overall. When it came time to move gym equipment they turned it into a weight lifting competition. This happened both in my home and on the truck. When it was time to move our bed they insisted on having crew members move it who have never moved a purple mattress before then laughed as they struggled. Five guys total and had two moving this mattress. We had bed pieces left behind at the house we moved from along with a $100 bed remote that is still missing. They had a supervisor come to our home to look for this item and he suggested that we use a remote from a different adjustable bed we own as if it wasn’t a big deal. Most people have adjusted beds due to medical reasons. As someone who’s in the medical field the lack of care on this alone bothers me to my core. When I was told about the lost/damage claim they stated that they would “make it right regardless as it’s their reputation”. This caused us to skip that $100 fee. However, this still wasn’t the case for us. The men moving us told us they were paid $15 and hour while we were paying $250 an hour for the move. They complained about their job and how they would be doing something else soon. They took furniture apart and didn’t reassemble it, causing pieces to be lost for a few days. By the end of the day they were basically throwing our stuff around and you could tell they were simply done. We had additional items that needed to be moved and ended up moving those on our own just to be done. The price of the move didn’t bother us. It was the lack of care for our items as well as our time. From the movers to the supervisors. Two Men And A Truck Response

Ms. ********, We hope you had a wonderful Christmas! As we have discussed thoroughly, our truck GPS report matches 100% with the time you were charged. Regarding the pieces left behind, it was a remote and bed cord. Nothing requiring heavy lifting on your part and we offered to go back and look at the move from location for you, which you declined. Regarding the remote, our last conversation with you was left at, "you were going to finish unpacking and then let us know if you found it." We have not received a response from you. Should it need replacing, please call our claims department and we will be happy to replace it. Regarding your statement of our employees and them complaining about their job, we have talked with those employees. They are all good employees and perfectly happy with their jobs. Your move was on 12/7 and they still work for us - have worked for us - and are happy to continue working for us. We're sorry that we cannot address your concerns to your liking. We have done everything possible to resolve your concerns and it seems there is nothing tangible we can do. Again, we hope you had a wonderful Christmas and hope you have a Happy New Year!Review from Benjamin G

Be very leery of this company. Their contract says they will be as careful as possible with your property, but they will repair property if it breaks if it can. Only if it is irreparable will they pay you for it. But then their contract would only pay you $0.60/lb, or $2.50 per pound if you pay them an extra $150.00 per truck.
Imagine that: It does not matter how much the item is worth, they will pay you based on its weight. So if they damage an item worth $50 which only weighs 1 pound, they will only pay you 60 cents or $2.50, depending on whether you gave them extra money.
In my case, they admittedly negligently broke a pane of glass that is easily repairable. They strapped it to the wall with the glass facing in. Notwithstanding that their contract clearly states they will repair if possible and only pay if necessary, they have refused to fix it, and are only offering 60 cents per pound.
They also charged me approximately 30% more than they said they would. With the excessive rates TWO MEN charges to begin with, that amounts to excess charges of about $1,000.00.Two Men And A Truck Response

Good morning Mr. ******,
We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the outcome of your claim. Unfortunately, some of your accusations are just not truthful. During the phone call in which you booked your move, you were provided with the policy and declined it - we even provided you with a copy of the call in which the policy was explained, you asked questions, and ultimately declined. The policy is compliant with federal and state regulations and is legally required of us, which is why it was provided to you. Knowing how a claim would be handled, you decided not to accept the protection plan which gave you access to repairing or replacing. Not only did you know this upfront and decline it, you declined it twice in writing. Regarding the estimate, it is based off of time used and the actual move only went 2.25 hours over the estimated time and was not 1,000 over as you claim. We wish you the best of luck in your new home.Customer Response

Two Men quoted $3,460, and I was charged $4225, approximately 30% more as I said.
The Two Men Contract says:
"Damages: Although our movers will be as careful as possible, from time to time damages may occur. If damage is caused by our service, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK reserves the right to repair the damage(s) in question. If we determine that a damage cannot be repaired, we reserve the right to compensate for the damage based on your chosen valuation."
Similarly, on the sales call the employee specifically stated that Two Men would repair a repairable the item regardless of whether one paid the extra fee. The call was recorded by Two Men and I was provided a copy.
I interpret both the written contract and the call to mean that they will repair a repairable item before resorting to paying for an item based on its weight. As demonstrated by Two Men above, they are willing to disregard their own contract and their own sales pitch to save a couple of dollars.Review from Karen G

We had Two Men and a Truck in Tulsa, OK load our apartment into a ****** truck. We bought the package where they were supposed to cover our items in blankets and shrink wrap items. We arrived at our destination only to find out they didn't wrap over half of our items in blankets which damaged several pieces of solid wood furniture. They didn't shrink wrap our shelves containing plastic tubs, even though that is how they found them, leave them to fly all over the truck. When I called their customer service department they said there was nothing they could do. Including no apologies how the truck was packed by their employees. Two Men And A Truck Response

Ms. **********,
We are concerned as to why you did not bring this to our immediate attention. When signing paperwork that everything was loaded and services were complete to your satisfaction, it would make sense that all of your concerns would have been brought to our attention before signing these statements. Unfortunately, because this was a "load only" move, we are not responsible for items not in our immediate care, custody, and control. This information was made available to you not only verbally during the booking process, but in writing as well multiple times, When someone other than us drives items across the country and then unloads the items, it is not feasible for us to be held liable. We wish you the best of luck in your new adventure and a happy new year!
