They claimed that I smoked in the car when I don't even smoke. The car wasn't even clean when I got it, I pulled water bottles and a snack wrapper from under the seats that weren't ours yet they claim to have found ashes left by me? As I said, I do NOT smoke. Never have and never will. Scam scam scam. I do not recommend this place at all. Run far away and fast.Editing to add, I just got a call from a female stating that there WILL be a $450 charge because she used to smoke with kids in the car so "that does not fly". As I said, I DO NOT SMOKE. I said it was me and my kids in the vehicle meaning that my passengers don't smoke either, obviously! The oldest is 9. The voicemail was VERY Rude. They claim to have pictures as proof. There was definitely sand as we went to the beach but if there is any ash, it was not from me. Liars, scammers and thieves.Now to figure out how to pay an extra $450 when I had to budget at save for over a year just to afford this vacation for my kids. Never again.Budget Truck Rental Response

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH BUDGET! I had to use their rental services as it was scheduled and paid through my business for a work trip to the ***********, ** location at the airport. had zero issues while I was driving it and everything was a pleasant experience between January 21st to 26th... Until 2 days ago, 7/10/2024.I received an email from ************************************* stating that I had caused $3000+ in damages to the vehicle I drove and I had until July 24th to pay it before they charged it to the CC on file, which was my business's. After calling and warning everyone, I attempted to call ******* 12 minutes after she sent the email to me, including pictures, supplements, etc. What was crazy is that the email stated that the date of loss was 6/29/2024. I WAS NEVER IN THE ***** AND THIS WAS 6 MONTHS AGO that I had this car in my possession. The biggest mistake they made by sending me all this is that it had mileage stamps on it. When I returned the car to the Budget facility, it had ***** miles on it. According to the supplement that I read, the mileage on the vehicle upon inspection of damages is *****. Even with putting this information into an email and sending it to me accusing me of damages, they did not even take the time to investigate their claim. My husband finally got a hold of ******* after 48 hours and after threatening in a voicemail to call the Attorney General, who he is good friends with, to get this issue resolved, even though we had left very calm voicemails prior with no response.I am extremely upset by this interaction that I have had with this company. Now my insurance in involved in a claim that never happened that Budget is claiming I did. Do not ever do business with this company. I will be advising my company that sponsored this trip to never do business with Budget again.Budget Truck Rental Response

Wish I could rate 0 stars. Do not choose Budget over any competitor, for any reason. Trust me. They are only slightly cheaper, but they will give you a terrible time if there is ANY possibility for it.For instance, they may as well not have phone support because:A. They know nothing B. Roadside hold time will be at least 2 hours C. If they lie, which they have a high likelihood of doing, Budget will literally not care even a little. They won't say sorry, they won't review the call, they won't eat a relatively small charge caused by their incompetence, nothing.For instance, I locked my keys out of the truck. I called them to see how much it would be to unlock, since I wanted to compare their price with nearby locksmiths. Phone support told me it'd be free.. twice! Well guess what? NINE MONTHS LATER, I get a DAMAGE CLAIM, but, well, it's not actually a damage claim... it's a... fee... for the lockout service... labeled as a "damage" claim.They didn't care that I was lied to. They didn't care that it took 9 months to figure this out. Didn't care that I could've gotten a cheaper service and would have if I was told the correct price.Terrible business. Cannot wait until you get hit with a class-action, and I'll gladly be part of it just for the principal.This is really not even all of it. Repairs, restorations, and services billing can regretfully be delayed as we cannot proceed with issuing charges until after the restorations have completed, service providers have provided their invoices for payment, and the rental associated with the service or restoration has been confirmed. We are sorry that we may not issue notification or charges until after this is completed.
As we have relayed to you previously, your rental declined **************** coverage and the charges for the lockout service you received is valid. While we understand you do not agree, we do not have any adjustment available for this charge.

They have terrible customer service. Their phone people are awful. The only good people, are FleetNet who handle truck roadside assistance. Everyone at Budget is useless, inept, and somehow holding a job. What a terrible company. Currently stranded and have gone through TWO replacement trucks. My experience with picking up a rental moving truck from this Budget located **************************************** was a complete nightmare. It took over an hour past our scheduled rental start time. The office was short-staffed, and the tension between staff members was uncomfortable to witness. When I returned the rental, Budget failed to send me a copy of my final receipt then refused to email me a copy of my receipt or any documentation confirming the return. I had to drive back to the location, where I was charged an additional day due to an administrative error. The office failed to promptly process my returned rental, resulting in the system incorrectly showing that I had kept the moving truck past my rental agreement. The staff eventually acknowledged the error, and I am currently waiting for a follow-up. It has been four business days, and the hold has not been removed from my card, nor have I received a final receipt with the credit owed to me. Needless to say, I will never rent from Budget or this location again and do not recommend doing business here.Budget Truck Rental Response

The worst company!! Do not rent with them! Cancelled my rental the day before and spoke with a lady who confirmed I would be charged 75 if I cancelled now. I look on my account today and I was charged 150! Better off going with U-HaulBudget Truck Rental Response

If I could give a negative star I most very would without hesitation. Worst experience even worse company. I was charged a no show fee for canceling a reservation after being told the truck was not available at that location. I called customer service only to be told Im being charged because I canceled the reservation same day and that they could only reverse half of the charge. Just use U-Haul, ten times better, no hidden bs.Review from Wanda R

Rented 12ft truck on 2/3/24, returning on 2/4/24. I was late returning the truck. This location is closed on Sunday. So no problem, I knew I would be charged EITHER a late fee or for an extra day. I call Budget Monday evening because I hadn't received my receipt, we will email it to you should have it shortly,no problem. 24 hours later, I'm charged a late fee, drop fee( how else are you going to return if you don't drop it off), an a extra day, and a location fee.So when I explained to the lady you can't double charge me either it's a late fee or an extra day!!! I asked to please explain how can you charge someone a drop fee when you have to drop the truck off??? You didn't have to locate anything because the truck was returned before the location opened it was at the front door!! After I asked to speak with a manager she placed herself on "mute" no music but before I asked for supervisor when she actually placed me on hold there was music. I work in a call center setting so I'm VERY familiar with the sounds and lack there of. She comes back and says she's going to refund the charges. This was 2/8/24 and I still have not received my refund. I don't care what type of business it only takes 5-7 Business days for a refund to post back to the original form of payment. I have called multiple times and they say wait until this day then this day. I had to fill a dispute with my credit card company. This is unprofessional, and unacceptable. I have never had a problem with Budget truck rental. I hate Uhaul and it seems Budget is going into that category with how they treat their customers.Budget Truck Rental Response

Absolutely terrible customer service. They are clearly not concerned with you or if you rent from them, even if you fly in to town to pick up the rental truck previously arranged. To get a manager to contact you back for assistance, they require a two hour return call window. The store was closing in an hour and a half so they were unable to follow through with our rental or have a manager contact us.Budget Truck Rental Response

Rented a 26ft box truck for business i was cont contact anyone at the location so i didnt fly out .Budget charged me **** i went back and rented another 26ft and the truck broke down had to wait 3 and a half weeks for a replacement my business lost thousands of dollars now i have another truck thats broken down budget will not compansat me im done with then ill file a claim in court this is sadBudget Truck Rental Response
