We decided to call Prestige Plumbing to diagnose a leak in our hydrant. During this time our water to our house was shut off. When Prestige arrived on September 15th, 2023, at our house, the plumber looked into the hole and stated we needed a new hydrant. I asked if the water should be turned on before they made that assumption. The plumber stated he had only had his license for 3 weeks. After turning on the water, he restated that again, we needed a new hydrant. When I asked for a quote, he said he would need to contact his boss. After 30 minutes of waiting, we reconvened and they priced the job at $450, but with military discount it would be $405. I contacted the previous plumber who worked on it before and who I trust. I wanted to ensure that the hydrant did in fact need to be replaced and to understand if there was a warranty, as the hydrant was only 1 year old. After speaking with him, I informed Prestige that they could continue the job to fix the hydrant. The job was completed within 5 minutes. I proceeded to give them a credit card to pay, however, they insisted that it's a 4% service charge for credit cards. Because of that, I paid with cash. After Prestige left my property, I called to request an itemized receipt. I left a voice-mail, initially. Later that day, my husband called and the receptionist stated that the owner would email an itemized receipt. We never received a phone call or an email back with a breakdown of costs. September 19th, 2023, my husband called to follow up on not receiving the itemized receipt. The owner answered the phone and as soon as he knew what the call was concerning he came off extremely unprofessional, threatening, aggressive and defensive. The stated that we did not need an itemize receipt, as we, the customer, do not dictate the prices. He told my husband he knew our neighbors and what he did for a living. Trying a scare tactic to derail the conversation. This is totally unacceptable for an owner of a business.
